I currently a member of 13 message boards, and I view around 30. I have never seen someone quite as incompetant, or an insufferably stupid as Louis EX. I got a bad image of him as soon as he did one of those deals where you go to a site, type in what you want, and it appears on a sign in a picture --- and he claimed to have done it with photoshop. Well... anyhow.

I'm sensing a serious lack of C&C... Of course, they'll be releasing the first Decade now... so... all of us who've done the hard work to posses every PC C&C ever made will be laughed at as you all just buy them in a kit. Of course.. I'll buy it too for the XP drivers.

P.S. Wreck the enemy's base with Colonel Burton while Renegade's "In The Line of Fire" moves you! Havoc was always more like Burton anyhow. Shell the enemy's base with your battleship while "Ammo Clip" echos the shots. Send your bomb trucks, send your terrorists, send your car bombs and your terror-cycles, while, again, "March to Doom" seems to strengthen your situation. Set the enemy on fire with your advanced laser technology, as "Pharotek" alligns the future to your advantage. "Sneak Attack" sets the mood for a well timed... well... sneak attack! All of the music is yours! Perhaps, now, a Gattling Tank rush to eliminate that infantry general, while "Drok" seems to fuel your genocide.... Again, MUAHAHAH!

Random C&C related stories! Come on... I'll start. When I was little, like 6 or 7.. we had the old C&C... but later when windows 98 came around, and I had been playing it, I noticed there were three catagories of space in the resource monitor: User Computer GDI Honestly, I really thought that was how much of my computer was being used to control my C&C connection to GDI.

That's true. But the corruption of the CNC games has clearly gone far beyond music. We will never see the good old magic again. However... we may see a new breed of classics. If we can accept it. Already RA2 and YR are being considered "Classic"... just a different kind of "Classic".

Remember when posting that the RA Soviets are much, much different then the YR soviets. My opinion on who is the best is as such. in the un-expanded RA2... SOVIETS. (By far!!) In Yuri's Revenge however, the title of best side has to go to... SOVIETS!

It occurs to me that the Stealth General is the best rendition of the terrorist forces in the world today. But where are his alleged snipers?! Anyone else notice that he has none?

i think it was the napalm effect... F-117s have bunker-busters, which give them the unique ability to make things fly. That's a definite plus. Get just one missile in, and in a couple seconds, the avenger will get knocked off it's ass. The damage from this is laughable, but it disorients those carefully aimed lasers..

Combat cards is good. The GLA is easy to win with. China is medium. USA is difficult. The GLA's army is thrown together of items found around the house or at the dollar store, so focus on their cheapness, build time, and, occassionally, speed. The bomb truck also has a very superior amount of firepower. :wink:

So, basically, it's a glorified game of rock-paper-scissors.

I cannot beat the first level with the demo general. SW general owns me. I am used to beating down any superweapons that pose a thread with generals abilities, superweapons, or massive airstrikes without having to bludgeon my way through to them early in the game. This is why I really like the Air Force general. Once I get my **** together, shock and awe. My airstrikes never stop. The laser general is a pushover.. for how good he is, his base sucked. If he had been played by an intelligent person, I would have trouble. Laser Patriots are bad news for air targets.

Okay, sniper arguement is getting old. Let's pick apart my post now. Shotguns, Railguns, and Ion Cannons. MMmmm. I will say this again -- a decent sniper has no use for a scope in multiplayer. And the Railgun packs such a punch, too... it's just... better.

Vehicles 1: Orca; of course! 2: M Artillary is excellent - outrange base defenses. 3: Recon Bike - get it going fast, and if you can control it, even the AGT's guided missile gives up on you. Characters: 1: Havoc 2: Black Hand Heavy Soldier 3: Hotwire/Technician ( If friendly fire is off, then i can pimp your ride with prox charges... ) Weapons: 1: The Rail Gun -- altought it is rivaling in damage and reload time to the Personal Ion Cannon, it's good for sniping vehicles and infantry (A true sniper like me doesn't need the scope, so it's just as good.), but unlike the personal Ion Cannon, it isn't obvious where the shot came from. Good for stealth. 2: Personal Ion Cannon --- Not as stealthy as the silent and deadly rail gun, but improved damage. A true sniper needs no scope. So blast vehicles out of the blue, and headshot any infantry that gets too close. 3: The shotgun. ---- Cheap, and underestimated. It is, of course, free, so when money is an issue, use it. When the enemy is being attacked by more advanced infantry, he sees the shotgun troop as laughable. A few shots when he's done with this will kill him. And here is where my strategy comes in! Foolishly, he lets you get in range. And in one or two decently aimed shots, he takes every piece of shot, and it will certainly kill him. One headshot with the SG will eliminate anyone. Not too good, but remember, being a non-advanced weapon, it is FREE!

General's version of the USA was a complete embarassment... and if the chinese were not satisfied with how much EA games was sucking their c***s, then, I'm pretty mystified. Especially ZH. Realistically, the US would win, hands down. Also, although we may be a tiny bit less likely to use it, we have a larger nuclear program than the chinese.

I've owned Renegade forever, and never played it online. Why? Because I can't...? LAN works fine, I use that and hook up all my computers and play with friends, but when I go to '"Internet"', it gives me the small window where it says it's connecting to WOL... but then it just says "error" and gives me the OK button. Same when I try to host. Nothing seems to help. I have all the patches... and it does this with all my computers. WTF is up? I even tried disabling my McAffe firewall... nothing. I'm getting aggravated... Any tips?

Although it isn't your typical C&C game... renegade is pretty awesome. And if you want a RTS to hold you until RA, you have two options... Dune 2000, which is run on the Red Alert engine... or Emperor. Personally, Dune 2000 is my favorite usable classic game right now. Emperor, while a nice break from having every house being f*cking identical, kind've pissed me off... just because all the units look like Dr.Seuss concepts. Everything is, like, moving tripods and towers and stuff, no more good old tanks.
