I very rarely play RTSs online, so Im not too concerned.

yeah, wikipedia certainly does have its downfalls. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/12/16 but Nato rank equivelancy really does state PFC and LCpl are the same. *shrugs* madness

Forgive me, Ive been so far out of the loop I was close to losing my pasty white geekness but do they still do pre-release demos? That really would be swell.

Agreed they're Junior NCOs, but Junior Officers (2Lts and Lts) are still officers. The difference I am referring to is - with a LCpl, he has command authority over troops, he requires a Junior NCO (covers leadership etc) course, and is to be referred to by rank (Both Cpls and LCpls are to be called Corporal/Corp) - whereas a PFC has to be in for a small bit of time. 3 years in the army and promoted is actually reasonably quick. Certain trades like Clerks and Storemen get it quicker (that article is flawed when it suggests they get it straight away.), but thats at unit discretion. As far as combat trades go, 3 year mark is a point to aim for, a fact I have seen on a British rank explanation poster. its possible to get it as early as 2 years, and isnt uncommon to have 5 year privates. (i met a 19 year private equivilant in australia - at that point he had been in longer than i had lived)

Why does everyone like hummers? They break too easy for whats sposed to be a rugged 4x4. Even the milspec hummers arent that tough.

=D Ill make Gunners (real gunners - artillerymen, not the dead6 type) outta y'all yet.

You only made him stronger. . Stronger? Last I saw of him he was in a tank full of life preserving fluid, time before that he had to half his face held together my some pretty bad tinbashing.

Ha, thx. Phe4r Teh MSPi4nt Sk1llz0rs! You're preaching to the choir on the Generals/RA2 thing. Dont get me wrong, they were both great games for gameplay, but storyline and relevance too C&C were lacking in both.

I saw that, it made it onto one of the primetime news shows in NZ. Good on him.

I saw the above over at PCNC, and had to laugh. Yuri comes second?!?! Over Cabal and the Forgotten? Someones gotta be playing silly buggers.

Has anyone done a forum poll on who their chosen side is? Itd be interesting to see how many weakminded fools have bought into Kanes 'Brotherhood'.

I hear you Nicko - I completey agree about RA being the predecessor of the Tiberium Series. I think what EA are saying with the seperate universes is that RA2 has split of from the Tiberian series, and may continue to do so, without reference to it anymore. Not the gospel, but it makes sense.

Artillery! I want to see Nod return with big kickass long range deployable artillery!

Its not neccesarily a downgrade to tanks. Tanks have a lower profile, thus less target area. Tanks would be cheaper to produce as well, which is probably a good thing considering GDI is a small force in C&C3

Man thats cool. His portable ps2s pretty sweet too.

I wasnt so fussed on the Stealth Soldiers on Renegade, they were kind of dumb, especially since they werent in Tib Dawn at all. Stealth tanks and generators are cool though.

It has been announced a few times that the Ion Storm will probably be player controlled? Any thoughts on that? Personally, the storms in Red Alert 2 seemed a bit cheesy to me, but I think its a bit different for the Tiberian Universe because of its already unpredicable and unexplained Ion Storms. It wouldnt be that crazy to find out how to manipulate them.
