new C&C Screenies over at IGN.com
gammyleg replied to dapperdan's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
I hope the navy isnt buildable, instead done similar to TD, or even the carrier mission of ZH -
That was the first thing I thought of - dead giveaway. I notice in the screenshots that the massive suits with no helmets are in the game too. Screens do look amazing. Green zones look great, and the yellow zones look exactly how they should. Overall, Im impressed. Yeah, im sure it does mean you cant build anywhere ala dozers, which Im certain most of the old dogs are happy about (I know I am), that being said, there are going to be movable bases, so Im sure thatll make you happy enough.

lol @ home computers. I can just picture someone trying to install C&C95 on one of those old computers. " We need more coal into the cpu room cap'! "

Alot of the tech background used was released by Westwood back in the day - definately true of the RA1 gear.

Ha, thats kind of funny. Is that Indonesian? My brother taught me a little Indonesian from when he came back from East Timor. It rings a bell. I've never played it, but I know Kotor stands for Knights Of The Old Republic - its a Star Wars game (RPG? Im not sure)

Wow, that PC&C thing is a really good read, they've really done their research. Its exactly how I figured the universe ran, but with a whole bunch more insight. I never thought of the Black Hand that killed Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo being linked to the Black Hand of Nod. It seems so obvious now. With how rich the storyline is, it really does become apparent how insignificant to the whole story RA2 was. Im glad PC&C haven't included it in this story line as per BWares theory. Dont get me wrong, BWares is still very plausible, but RA2 doesnt add anything to the tiberian storyline.

Complete agreeance on Ren2 on a BF engine. That was one of my first thoughts when I finally bought BF1942, playing Gazala- 'This is what Renegades should've been' If they could mix that engine with Renegades C&C Mode and have a good single-player campaign, itd be a winner for sure.

Wow, is Eurovision that old? I had the displeasure of having to endure that for a few months in Bosnia because our interpreters (and even a couple of NZers!) got into it. Awful.

I liked RA1s connection to the Tiberian Universe, how USSRs victory evolves into the brotherhood. Seems kinda plausible. Im not sure how RA2 fits in at all. Is it - RA1 - Allies Win - RA2 RA1 - USSR Wins - Tiberian Dawn - GDI Win - Tiberian Sun Seems possible. They really should release an official way of linking them. I dont mind if they completely seperate the Universes though.

I agree that the game should restrict to one superweapon of each type per side. I wouldnt mind seeing 2 different types of superweapon each side though. Say like for GDI to have their Ion Cannon and another super with quite a longer reload, and less damage, but still good enough that when used in conjunction with the Ion Cannon, can destroy a Conyard or something. Im sure balancing may throw this out the window, but it kind of reminds me of playing RA1 over modem with my mate where we had modified Rules.ini that gave both sides all equipment. Youd have these big strategies where you would chronoshift in a radar jammer and ion curtain it right besides their sam-sites, then nuke their ConYard and send in jets (free from sam fire) to finish it off.

Unless the C&C3 is revolutionary, Im gonna have to say no. Much like the others, I enjoy it ingame, but leave it there. That being said, I do have Hellmarch in my MP3 collection.

How have I been an ass? I havent once called you names, which is more than I can say about you. Youve called me a Socialist Liberal (why, Im still not sure), an Ass, and then had the nerve to request I grow up (Please, do show me where I was being immature). All because I dont believe that the UK is living in under the oppression of Big Brother.
-
I wont pretend to know the intricacies of UK law, however Im sure that they dont extend as far as your abortion and homosexuality scenarios. Im sure it only ever gets used in obvious cases of 'Inciting Hatred'. I dont think its nearly as dramatic as youd like to think it is, and it gets used for shutting up racists, and the likes of this women at the start of the thread. That being said I might be wrong, and everyone in the UK is living 1984. Anyway, Im not sure how my cheeky little comment about the president turned into me participating in a heated debate, but! I now officially remove myself from any political debate with the all-knowing BWare from now on.

I concur! To the guillotine with with RA3. RA1 = neat RA2 = not so neat. I think RA3 may eventually come out, and hell, I might even get it if it does, but I have no expectations for it being any good.

I think you dont get my point. Ill go nice n slow. I understand that "threats to security" (the silly little threatening president scenario) are not included in rights to free speech. My point is that in the UK, "inciting hatred" is not inluded in rights to free speech. Therefore, what you call 'Big Brother' laws of the UK, are very similar to the no-threatening-the-president laws of the US, only a little stricter. It has nothing to do with big brother, the law is simply saying that there is no place for hate-mongers in the UK. Thats all Im trying to say.
