  1. So we can stop panicking now and rest assured that it will, in fact, be rubbish.
  2. I hear you! RA3's trailer moved me from "not interested" to buying the Premier Edition. This still looks shallow and weak. The beta was fun for about two days then got old, I cannot see how this will be any different. I love how they try to create the illusion of bases by having a couple of players deploy in the same place.
  3. The audio, both the music and voices, was very good. The illustrations themselves however were uninspired and really disappointing, ugly even, in fact I'm sure that I've seen far better amateur fan-art.
  4. Firstly, those are not Sam Bass's actual words; don't take another website's headline out of context. Secondly, this is all really just extremely idealistic of Sam Bass - nothing more. Tiberian Twilight will be out in a few weeks, I don't see how the sales of Wings of Liberty will affect it in any way when it's released in 4-5 months' time.
  5. This attitude is what's wrong with the current C&C community and its leaders. You're all far too content with the bear minimum, as long as there's a "C&C" logo attached you blindly defend the series - and have ultimately killed it. Well done.

    C&C 4 Developer Q&A #18

Can you just smell the non-free DLC map packs?
  7. This is great news, if EA is pursuing this approach. We want actors that can deliver new, convincing characters instead of "hey it's that hot chick that can't act..." Just remember that Joe Kucan wasn't known as an actor before he played Kane. We need more of that; new characters played by unfamiliar actors that we identify as those characters specifically. It feels more real and convincing, and less "acted."

    Will EA screw this up?

    Yup, long-term support isn't one of EA's strong-points I'm afraid...

    Will EA screw this up?

C&C's charm was always, always in its presentation. At this point EA is clearly making a big effort to (with the exception of the installation sequence unfortunately) continue with this. They've big names in the game's music and acting department, the story's apparently very strong and I'm sure the gameplay will be solid too. I know that EA went outside the C&C trademarks with Generals/Zero Hour, but right now it really does look promising for Tiberium Wars.

    The orca

I totally agree bud, The art direction for GDI in Tiberium Wars feels far too chunky. The new Orca design doesn't look at all like the creature that it gets its name from, if they're going to keep this design they should change the name.

    C&C 3 Music

Apparently Steve Jablonsky is doing the soundtrack for Tiberium Wars. Looking at his portfolio on IMDB I can honestly say that this guy's got what it takes to deliver an incredible score, I just hope that it's true to Frank Klepacki's style.
  12. I'm wasn't keen on the idea of changing the C&C logo for the core C&C universe series so I'm very glad that they've gone back to the original logo's format. I still wish they'd used the original logo though, the bold golden brazened "Command & Conquer" logo always had a greater presence than Generals' "high tech" version and now it just feels too clean. I agree with you guys about the "3" too. It's done in the same typeface as the "Command & Conquer", so if they went back to the original's title the "3" would follow suit and look much better - and more certifiably "C&Ced".
  13. From what I've seen of the NOD building designs I'm in two minds. They look great and they've reverted to the original Hand of NOD concept from C&C, I really hated the "fallen glove" design that it had in TS. I also like the "subterranean" concept too, it feels far more like what they were trying to achieve in TS. On the other hand it feels like they're going too far in regards of the "insect" feel. In the C&C and TS the only structure that was "insectified" was the Temple of NOD, this made the structure significant and made it feel expensive and powerful when you witnessed one. The Flame Tank looks awesome though!
