On my old comp, with win 98 ra2 worked ok. it crahsed often, but it was really maxed out & the pc was working overtime. Anyway, on XP, Skirmish plays fine, but campaign freezes at the start, after about 20 secs into the mission. Ive tried compatability mode, it doesnt work. I reinstalled many times too. p4 3.4ghz 1 gtg ram radeon x1650 pro Any ideas?

Ok, so, i have the deluxe version of generals & zero hour. I Install generals, all installs fine. The autorun screen comes up, and when i click "play" nothing happens. I get a brief ea/generals splash in the middle of the screen, then it wont boot up. Ive tried running it without autorun but the same happens. The disc spins and speeds up but does nothing. However, i thought i would give ZH a try, expecting the same. I installed ZH, and it ran... perfectly! Started up fine, no problems and ran it for about an hour. Ive read a lot of people have had the generals problem, but cant find a solution. Ive unsintalled it about 6 times, all using different methods, CCleaner, spyware cleaners, everything. I dont think its a graphics card fault, as i recently upgraded from a Radeon 9550 to an X1650Pro. Im running windows XP with 1 gig of ram, on a p4 3.4ghz processor. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Someone once said if ZH works fine, it could be a disc fault with Generals? Possible or not?
