Avist Torch replied to Alex06's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations
For me, Firestorm was what really made TS into a good game. -
Pfft, if you want a real novelization, try this fanfic (warning: heavy language in his rants against the C&C 3 novel, especially as the fanfic goes on ) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3654039/1/Tiberium_Wars

Which Command and Conquer unit are you?
Avist Torch replied to a topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations
Mobile Artillery You stay well back from any conflict and you are very shy. When you anger you let all your rage out at once before running back off to a safe distance. You are cowardly but powerful. You rely on others for support. -
GDI must've built it with stole Scrin hovertech.

Anyone know where I can find the EALA C&C 3 Blogs?
Avist Torch replied to Avist Torch's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
Thanks. Maybe I was on the wrong site model or something; the site looked different when I tried. Basically, I'm trying to come up with a working explanation for Tiberium mutation with the New Tib, but I need a fuller description than Wikipedia's for that. -

The ones on the main site are down and I don't think they're ever coming back up. I'm especially interested in the Tiberium blogs (A Little about Tiberium, I think it was?). -
Good Charlotte - (multiple songs) Frank Klepacki - Damage King (from playing the UaW Beta).

WiC is different; no base building, looks like a command-level version of Battlefield. I might buy it; I wasn't too interested, but then I tried the demo, and it wasn't bad. From what I've seen, I'm not sure it's 9.5 material. Heck, the multiplayer's the main draw; there isn't even a Soviet campaign. The camera's different, I'll give them that much. Which reminds me, I'd better pick up Company of Heroes soon. I've heard it's quite good.

That was awesome.

Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity
Avist Torch replied to Avist Torch's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
I doubt they'll be able to hire Klepacki, since he's at Petroglyph right now, but some have called for them to use Jarrid Mendelson for the music (he worked with Frank to create Tiberian Sun's music and did the Ordos music for Emperor: Battle for Dune). Speaking of which, didn't APOC say there'd be a Kane's Wrath "media blitz" this month? -
Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity
Avist Torch replied to Avist Torch's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
That's not exactly what I said. I don't like what they've done with Tiberium or the technology in TW or the complete absence of continuations of CABAL or other important story points from TS. I would prefer something between TW and TS but it's pointless to argue that now. We can hope that KW fixes these holes, but as I and others have said, it is really hit or miss (mostly miss it would seem) with EA. And at this point it could be too late to get a good connection to Firestorm in KW because of the development cycle. Speaking of development, didn't APOC say about a month ago that the music development in KW hadn't started yet? -
Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity
Avist Torch replied to Avist Torch's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
Exactly; an explanation would also work, although it wouldn't be as good. However, they'd have to either show it or mention that it was done. Doing neither would leave a large, gaping plot hole. -
Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity

But the TW expansion spans from the end of Firestorm (or even TS) until 3 years after TW. My point is that it wouldn't make sense for the new tiberium to suddenly appear during the "right after TS" part of the campaign without some old-style Tib appearing somewhere. -
Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity

But it's not quite 'right after' TS. A good few years pass and a lot can happen during that few years. Besides, it's a game. You really don't know the true nature of Tiberium. Hmm... *pulls out clipboard* http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/comman...tml?sid=6176655 Even if the fiction is retconned so that Firestorm ends by 2028, that's only 2 years. If not, then it basically starts right at the end of Firestorm, if not TS itself (not quite sure on Firestorm's date). -
Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Continuity

Yeah. It just wouldn't make sense for it to show up right after TS like that, which is why I'm worried about the continuity implications.
