Error, Ecomponent Error, can not edit anything.. help
jjohnson0000 replied to jjohnson0000's topic in TibEd Technical Support
I believe I figured out what the problem for this was, in case anyone else runs into this. It seems that when I have the default .ini files all inside the zero hour folder it gives this error, so I had to remove most of the .ini files and it worked. -
Help with Modding Zero Hour and some questions

Yeah, I tried doing that also but there is no clone button available when I try to clone anything but modules for some reason. I'll see if I can get some screenshots of what comes up on my screen when I try that out. -
Help with Modding Zero Hour and some questions

Hmm It doesn't seem to work (I'm mostly likely doing something wrong") Here is what it looks like before I attempt to clone a unit (trying to clone the crusader tank) Now I am about to clone Now I cloned it But as you can see at the bottom of the list it does not seem to appear. What am I doing wrong? I think I can just go edit the ini files but would be nice if I could get this to working. Thanks for your help I don't get a dialogue to enter a name when I clone the object, it just seems to automatically do it. Also I don't have 2 cloning options, the only option I have is to make an exact duplicate. So I think that is the problem, is it possibly missing in my program? I am also not able to right click on anything on the left (like the command button for it) to make a clone that way. I did manage to clone it via editing ini files and importing a big back in, so I guess I will have to do it manually again but if you could help me on why the right click and whatnot aren't working correctly for me I would appreciate it (would make it much easier heh) Thanks again -
Help with Modding Zero Hour and some questions

My next question is: I found the clone button, but only seems to work with certain upgrades on the right side of the window: How would I clone an entire Unit? It doesnt show in the tutorial it just shows cloning an upgrade. Anyway, my main question is... when you "clone" it... where does it appear? I can't seem to find the "clone" anywhere -

I should add. I looked into the tutorial on "adding" units since I thought this may be an easier way to do this (by cloning the unit I want to add) but I don't have a clone button or anything like that that is what it looks like for me, just have the "key/value" editor... how do I access the clone and other options? edit: sorry the picture is so small must be an imageshack thing... I can make it bigger with this link (youd have to click it though) http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/5776/tibedjf7.jpg -
Help with Modding Zero Hour and some questions

I am trying to mod Zero hour and I have a few questions regarding this. I will explain what I am trying to do to make it easier to help out. Basically what I am doing is trying to mod it so that I am taking all of the "benefits" of each general, and combinging them into the "vanilla" sides.. so I can play the "vanilla" factions and have all the strengths of the generals with none of the weaknesses. So for example, I have started modifying the aurora bomber for vanilla usa. Here is what I have done for starters just to test: So far I have edited it to make it a fuel air aurora. It has worked so far, however I am unsure how to change the icon to the fuel air aurora from the vanilla usa airfield. I now want to add the point defense laser that the airforce aurora has. I have noticed that to do this there needs to be an extra "behavior" under the AmericaJetAurora Object, however I see no way to "add" this extra behavior. (I did this by comparing the airforce aurora object to the regular usa and superweapon ones... There is a 10th behavior for the airforce one with a "weapontemplate" AirF_PointDefenseLaser that needs to be added) So my big question is... is there a way to export all of this into some kind of file that I can manually edit (that way I can add in new lines like a new "behavior" etc? Or is there a way within tibedit to add this? Any other hints tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks -

Error, Ecomponent Error, can not edit anything.. help
jjohnson0000 replied to jjohnson0000's topic in TibEd Technical Support
First, I can't go through every post on this forum, I don't have time. Second, I did read that post, but it didnt ask what I am asking.. It asked about editing first decade generals, which is not what I am trying to mod. it says in the answer that you can edit first decade zero hour , which is what I am trying to edit, so I'm not sure how that answers my question. -
Error, Ecomponent Error, can not edit anything.. help

I recently installed Tibed, and am trying to edit Generals Zero hour (first decade) When I open the program, I select "c&c generals zero hour" then I hit "start new project" I hit "open window" it then says select item from tree, and the top of the tree says "c&c generals" (note, doesnt say zero hour here, not sure if it is supposed to) I can then expand the various trees, but no matter what I click on as far as different categories (for example. I expand America, and then click on "air" I get the following error message. "there was an error that was not handled by any code" Error type: Ecomponent Error Error Message: A component named frmListEditFrame already exists. And on the top of the window it says "error, uncaught exception" The game is installed on D:\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\ Tibed is installed in C:\Program Files\TibEd 2 I am new to editing generals, so I don't really know too much what I am doing. Please help heh. Also, is there a way to extract ini files and manually edit them like in the old Red Alert games? Thanks
