Agreed, when played right it's definitely one of the better experiences out there. It's incredibly rare that it's played right on public servers unfortunately. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the expansions were good too, though I wasn't big on the Pacific-based follow up and I haven't really followed the random console releases.

I would have thought people thinking it was the end were doing so on the basis of rumours about the team being laid off after the game ships rather than because it's the last in the Tiberium series. I find myself in a situation that I would never have imagined seven years ago - I'm hoping the next game is either a Generals game or they chuck everything about the last few 'proper' C&C games in the bin and come up with something new.

Well I'm glad none of us came off as overly harsh. *cough* Thanks for the opportunity to contribute, I've posted about this on http://gamesmodding.com/. And good shout about the art style issue Mighty BOB!, that was one of the things that occurred when I chose not to buy RA3 (that you can't do anything vaguely serious without redoing every bit of art in the game) but it skipped my mind when I was doing my answers.

Use offline mode then. Mine won't update UT3 at the moment, but the servers are being absolutely pounded because of the price drop, free weekend and Titan/2.0 update so it's understandable. Telling it not to auto update lets me launch.

What does the PS2 output at? The Wii, which isn't HD, looks alot better through a component (RGBRW plugs) versus an av (scart or RWY plugs) but you change it to 480p (which is ED, enhanced definition) when using that cable. I don't think the PS2 will do that so there'll probably be very little improvement.
