Hi folks,
Thanks for helping spread the word. Yesterday we reached a landmark of 4,000 people including thousands of artists against these laws. Here's a link to our press release http://creativefreedom.org.nz/story.html?id=49 . Unlike the people pushing for this law we don't have a marketing budget (we're just doing this because we care about it) so if there's anything you can do to help spread the word we'd appreciate it. Search your mind for people who use the internet and haven't heard about this issue and please tell them what you think about guilt upon accusation laws in NZ.
Oh yeah, I agree. The main issue that we have is that it's alleged digital theft and that people will receive punishment before the evidence has been held up court scrutiny, and that you don't even get a trial before you are punished (thus reversing the presumption of innocence).
We're not for copyright infringement that takes money away from artists, but we think everyone deserves a trial before punishment.
If you have any questions just post them here
Thanks,
