McDonald's Sued Over Nude Photos
General Leang replied to Doctor Destiny's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
My two cents on this. I sort of lean towards the side of the couple who lost the phone. I have friends who have on their phones material that is much much worse than nude photos, so as long as there is nothing illegal I do not see why the content should be an issue. It is possible that the phone was left there so that this could happen. However for this to work an employee at McDonalds would have to find the phone, look through it, send the photos and information somewhere and then put it online. That was a bit of a gamble for someone at McDonalds to do, as opposed to anyone walking in to do the same thing or even just take the phone with no idea as to the contents, or at least no desire to put what was on the phone online. The facts are that McDonalds claimed the phone was secured, and yet somehow sensitive information from it was placed online. Certainly the couple are to blame for having the photos and then losing the phone. However they did not as far as I can see upload the photos or cause the grief they have faced, someone who had access to the phone did. If McDonalds were meant to be the only ones to have access to it then it would be reasonable for questions to be asked about how the information got out. -

At the moment I am really getting into 24 and watch it when I have the time, 1.09 was nothing short of shocking, even more so when a friend had only just commented how terrorists who kidnap women never do anything to them. The new Sarah Connor Chronicles seems to have dropped in quality...is this due to the writers strike? I saw the first episode of The Unit with David Haysbert (David Palmer) and want to watch more and when I can a Simpsons marathon would be good too. I might even squeeze in Charlies Angels and have been meaning to see Saving Private Ryan.

Hmm...Yuri's Revenge, Kane's Wrath, how about for an expansion we have Yuriko go on a one girl mission of vengence against first the Empire and then the whole world? The designers are clearly anime fans, the air units are remiscent of Macross. Maybe they could work in an anime apocalypse were Yuriko to succeed.

I liked Kenji but he was too arrogant. Fuller, or Mr Randy Coulture, Sir, as you would be wise to address him as, is the man. Left to his own devices he will finish half of the final mission for you. Pretty much everyone is good, except for Giles. The bane of Red Alert. Honestly he can ruin the game worse than Ashley ruined Resident Evil. And he was worse than hopeless.

Best Command & Conquer ending
General Leang replied to General Leang's topic in Command & Conquer: General Discussion
I did like the Soviet endings however thought maybe they tipped their hand too early in having Kane make several cameos. Perhaps better would have been to make it so that we could not clearly see him, so those who would recognise him would guess but not be certain until the final act. For me the Soviet end game, as in the last couple of missions in Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge were. Not just the final cut scene, when Zofia reveals that Yuri is the traitor, that was perhaps the most well done part of the game. -
I have the demo and played the full game, and those who have maybe large TVs should play this standing up in front of it. Even when you make a small jump your groin tightens up like you are about to fall, so sadly for those like Mina this would be a game to avoid. As good as game is though, the graphics and gameplay, I do have one criticism of it and is the same problem I had with Endwar I think. The game seemed to lack character, or soul. It might be just me but it seems to be missing life to it that draws you in.

Oh yes. Maybe there could be a mechenic where your funds are based on how many prisoners are executed in your concentration camps. I do think the idea of having Nazis would be a bit too dark even for Red Alert. The Allied ending leaves the way open for a continuation of the storyline, and there was that rumor of a former WWE superstar being involved. I wonder how many will go 'woooooooooooooo' if that becomes a reality.

I said this about whether or not to buy Splinter Cell and I will say it here. Oh decisions decisions. Really, the dramatization was a little too much I thought. Then again, this is Red Alert.

Is there any doubt who the game is marketed at? If not look behind the booklet. EA have a present for ya.

Pass on Hitler as well. Aside from the whole plot revolving around him not rising to power, who would want to play as the Fuhrer? I would wager hardly anyone. As for ideas for the expansion, how about making the game at least as big as the first one? Seven or so missions would do it for me. And perhaps some ideas like making the sub commanders actually playable with unique abilities ala the countries or faction generals from Zero Hour.

Good this is finally over and done with. I will not be dancing for joy over it but taking into account things such as the way Amrozi taunted the families of the victims it had to be done. In death he will be unable to hurt them anymore. The big concern now is they will be seen as myrters and the possibility of reprisal. Now let us be clear on this, they murdered over two hundred people. Justice is not allowed to be carried out on them? Fanatical.

Speaking of which, have you seen Naomi? No way is she Japanese. She looks and sounds like Sherry Palmer from 24.

Pity. There is room for more people with his 'screw'em all' policy.

Is it true they use torture techniques from 24 at Gitmo?

You think Bush will be missed? Who will they make fun of now? On Obama, I believe all around he was the logical choice for voters. America have had a turbulant eight years under a Republican canidacy, and much of the blame is placed at their leader. However much of that blame is deserved bringing in a new Democratic leadership with the first African American President as their figurehead should provide a very positive boost to opinion of America. As sad as it may be, how Obama may handle the financial crisis and the war on terrorism was likely secondary to the fact that he was not Bush, he was not a Republican, and after eight years people had more than enough. And when Sarah Palin came into the picture that was it. The undisputed laughing stock of the elections doomed the Republicans to failure. The last time we saw a new President there was the Florida scandal. I think this time we have to ask if Palin was hired to undermine the party she worked for, because she could not have done a more spectacular job if she tried.

I was about to start a thread on this. Having played the game it is a technical achievement in terms of the graphics, sounds and gameplay. Having different and unique voices for the same units is a simple masterstroke and the style of camera and how you fight turns stratergy games on their head. Even the storyline is above par, with America going to war with Europe and Russia because of a connection to terrorists. It will be interesting to see how things such as the Freedom Star will play into the game. Endwar however, is just a tiny bit boring to play. I think it might be a combination of the ultra serious take the game has and the fact despite all the uniqueness to it you are basically doing much the same thing as you do in C&C, down to the rocks\paper\scissors style of unit weaknesses. It is still highly recommended however and will be interesting to see how it fares with Red Alert 3's imminent release.

J. Jonah Jameson for President. I think there is room for more people like him in politics. -
Command and Conquer Generals 2
General Leang replied to Masked Shah's topic in Site / Forum News & Discussion
I wonder if fans would be happier if they put Construction Yards back in, which were removed to stop game winning engineer rushes, and actually encouraged this tactic. Or if they kept the model they have now and removed the C&C name. -
Command and Conquer Generals 2
General Leang replied to Masked Shah's topic in Site / Forum News & Discussion
Essentially I was suggesting if Generals 2 was a carbon cope of Tiberium Dawn, to the point where Sheppard and Kane were portrayed as USA and GLA generals, the game would be better liked. -
As many of you would probably be aware, the Fox TV program 24 has been criticized for being an influence for soldiers who claim they draw inspiration from the protagonist Jack Bauer and have tried to copycat his interrogation and torture techniques. If not below are several web sites on this particular issue. http://righthandpolitics.blogspot.com/2008...-bauer-way.html http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=55722 http://www.amconmag.com/article/2007/mar/12/00008/ http://www.pierretristam.com/Bobst/07/c022707.htm http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/am...lse-436143.html http://www.democracynow.org/2007/2/22/is_t...e_on_hit_fox_tv http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/12/...can-Torture.php Speaking of which, I find it curious that 24 is pointed at for criticism over what happens in Iraq, as season two made a very good case against invading Iraq. The plot involved Middle Eastern terrorists attempting to detonate a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles, and the President trying to decide whether or not to invade the countries who were alledged to be in support of the attack. If you remember this was one of the things they attempted to pin on Iraq, linking the country to September 11. On the issue of torture I am of the understanding that it does not work, and on the issue of Iraq whatever the right decision was the show did a good job of putting a case forward to not invade, certainly on the same premise the writers used. I think it is safe to say many of us have good knowledge on this topic, many of us have strong opinions about Iraq and torture. I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts.

I just do not get that at all. I mean these people who shout down religion want all the freedoms and free passes they claim religion has, and then want to take them all away. Huh?

Command and Conquer Generals 2
General Leang replied to Masked Shah's topic in Site / Forum News & Discussion
Would Generals 2 be better if it had just the top down view rather than isometric or controlable camera? What if we had all the units have the same voice? Remove the ability to garrison buildings? Take out one of the factions and have just two? Put the MCV back in and make engineer rushes guarenteed to work against them? Have an airstrike as the only ability you can use? Make it the only air unit in the game? Instead of having fancy tanks and units with unique abilities have rifle guy, rocket guy and the difference in tanks is light and medium? Force the player to harvest for cash as opposed to having supply depots? Would these changes make Generals 2 a better game? -
And on the other side of the pond there is a growing number of people who oppose religion, and yet act exactly in the same manner as what they criticise in order to show how much more moral they are, despite claiming their belief has no morality. Crazy is as crazy does perhaps? My point is if somebody is that worked up over such a small thing like skin color then perhaps they need to have a little talk. Like with a psychiatrist.
