I guess people want the old school cool factor of using full motion video sequances. That would be particularly true of Command & Conquer fans who grew up with the series from where they began and technology was only just beginning to be able to utilize proper lie action footage to today where we could make computer generated cut scenes indistinguishable from the real thing if we wanted to. For me, I hesitate that tackiness is part of Red Alert's charm, but personally it does not matter to me as long as it is good. So far it seems out of place, I think part of it is that the British accents make it look like someone else made the game (which is true, someone else did) and that makes the video disconcerting because what we see and what we hear does not click with what we are familiar with, but I am willing to reserve judgment until the inevitable Tanya\Natasha catfight.

Now that I got that out of all our systems, finally, the unit all of us have been waiting for. With the real life Soviet ingenuity in mind, bears look pretty good. I would probably drop the radio equipment on them though, but that is just my opinion.

You think it would be a fatal mistake do you? Well I would be very interested in hearing your explanation of why you think it would be a fatal mistake and I am sure others would like to hear it as well.

That does help, thank you. My friend has always been the crusader type, whether it is the bipolar or just who they are they want to try and fix everything, control everything. They might feel like they are trying to do some good but the price is too high considering how much anger there is, how they lash out at others and harm themselves doing it.

Perhaps it is time EA did away with live actors. We have the technology in this day and age to make people and enviroments that are almost indisguishable from the real thing. If we wanted to, we could create Tanya to be a combination of Lynne Litteer, Kari Wuhrer and Milla Jovovich. The big stars EA likes to use could provide the voices if not the looks. Just a thought. Maybe my mind will change when I see JK Simmons in the finished product.

Maybe I will turn out to be wrong. Maybe the finished article will look better. Going by this video however it just feels like the quality when video was first used in games.

Sorry, the whole thing just looks bad. Perhaps we have been spoilt by video game sequances that have been done with great artistic skill, maybe I am just biased to the second Red Alert (still bad, but enjoyable). Either way it just looks all wrong. The character's looks. The voices. The acting. The costumes. I cannot help but think this is a high school film project rather than a professionally produced piece of practical period phtography put to PC.

The first thing they need to do is change the hair. A blonde Tanya? She just does not look the part. Get rid of that stupid logo on the tanktop as well. Then I would be willing to give her a chance.

Noooooo...tell me that is not Tanya.

Maybe they need to go back to having a top down view and keep just the sidebar as well. Tiberium Wars was hard to play.

Personally I think the Milla Jovovich placeholder is better suited for Tanya and Jenny McCarthy is just a swerve, but that might be just me.

J. Jonah Jameson as the American President? Hokay, this game just became worth playing. I wonder if they will work in his obsessed with Spiderman role somewhere.

But will the storyline be up to snuff? That is the big question.

And they are trying to hire Chris Cleave, Tom Clancy and Richard Marcinko to work in Kane, time travel, Tiberium, the Soviets, Nod, Tanya, Darth Vader and the new Red Alert into the war on terror universe of the first Generals.

Do I? Counterstrike then. I cannot recall a storyline for that either. Or Team Fortress for that matter.

Um, what is the storyline for NBA Live 2008 again? I cannot seem to recall how it tells of a hungry rookie looking to prove himself, a seasoned veteran ready to crack under the pressure and the coach's last stab at glory. This is an absolute outrage, sports games suck because they have no story.

Can we have Miss Jovovich instead of the blonde stripper they are hinting at?
