Can't find the article online. As far as I remember, though, the cover story was GTA: Vice City. Anyways... Currently playing Prototype. >

Nope. Wait, I'll look up the PC Gamer article that was about TFT. Not review, but preview. How Blizzard envisioned TFT. As far as I remember, the developers made it clear that they placed a greater emphasis on the heroes. Don't forget the addition of race-specific buildable shops (and a lot of those items are only usable by heroes, and yet also make a huge difference in combat). And the addition of the tavern. Plus, rebalances were significant as well. No hero in RoC was capable of being an effective one-man army, yet in TFT, the Crypt Lord filled that role.; just one of those badasses can make huge trouble. There is greater emphasis on hero usage, and it's harder (but in no case impossible) to rape heroes with masses of non-hero uses due to the balances and the excellent new items. The greatest RPG-ish portions were the campaigns. Every reviewer, from IGN to PC Gamer US, noted the RPG-ish elements. And that's not just in the Rexxar campaign; it was all in the campaigns, were hero usage was emphasized. Indeed, in some missions (a considerable number, to say the least), other units played very much diminished roles; heroes took the forefront.

@Plotkie, Blizzard did intend to make an RPG-ish RTS with Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. I mean, notice the huge changes in dynamics with heroes. DotA simplified it even more; it was still kind of like an RTS, but the RPG element was highlighted even more. Btw, still playing Stepmania. I hate not getting full combos.

Damn. Well, so is mine. Few good developers still truly exist. The talent is there, but the passion and freedom... Kinda questionable.

Microsoft owns Halo. An offshoot company, 343 Industries, which is composed of several former Bungie staffers, will handle future Halo projects. Not that I'm enthusiastic about the possible output. Halo: Reach will be the last Halo for me.

Faster, Nmenth, FASTER! I want this mod now!

We do see that developers who take a long time in developing come up with amazing games. Just look at Starcraft II. Years in the making, and it's undoubtedly the best RTS I've played in recent times. Or Halo; at least a year, even more, before a title is released (with the notable exception of Halo 3: ODST, which was just an expansion yet rocked anyway, and Halo Wars, which is just some Microsoft spinoff bull****).
-
Well, I can wait. I didn't actually add all the games I want, considering that this is 2011. > And I think they'll add a few graphical upgrades, and maybe some updates to the Havok physics engine (especially with the new units). Not to mention that the campaign will be way different, taking RPG-ish elements, which would be like a blown-up Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. But I prefer the Terran campaign's system as of now; it reminds me of Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries (and I LOVED that game).

It seems the life has been sucked out of the plebeians here. It seems I'm the only one left alive. >

Playing Stepmania v.3.9 on my BlueShark pad. Pretty tough moving your feet in a groove while wearing headphones. LOL.

You gotta admit, these people really indicate that there just might be a future for the C&C series... If only EA would listen to them and bring them aboard (provided that they still have all the creative liberties they need once brought aboard).

Gee, thanks for the info Sonic! I totally forgot F.E.A.R. 3! And btw, Neverwinter is just set in the same place (the city of Neverwinter) but the story is totally new. As for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it's a prequel; one can say that it is still very original. Not to mention the past Deus Ex games were kickass.

Hahaha! That's how I think. Only buy mid-range, never low, and not high as much as possible. What's the point of an uber-high-end uber-brand-new PC when the fact remains that, just a few months later, it'll go down a few notches in terms of rank? >
-
Whew. You really are a tech nut aren't you? Meh, I'm satisfied with mid-range tech. DX10, just one display, etc... And just enough specs to edit videos well, and also play all of my games at max video and audio settings.
-
I suggest you do upgrade to CS5. Pretty nifty. But if you really like drawing on paper and have a scanner, I'll suggest MangaStudio. It's not as multi-faceted as PS, but definitely the kind of software for those that prefer traditional drawing methods.
-
Awesome! Seems like my drive will be full of C&C games soon enough with all of these excellent mods popping up. >
-
Guild Wars 2 Crysis 2 Neverwinter (D&D Game) Gears of War 3 Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Deus Ex: Human Revolution
-
Hm, well, a crude fix would be to draw on paper and ink it in paper as well, then scan it. Finishing touches, like color and other stuff, can be done on PS instead. @Plotkie, ever thought of upgrading to CS5? >

@Nyerguds, yup. Correct. Fraps works well on any game I've tried, be it POP, SC, Cabal Online (and that game, despite it's age, hogs system resources), Sims (from 1 to 3), etc... In short, it's an all-around video game recording tool. There's also this nifty software (though it's not freeware) called GameCam; I've heard great stuff about it, though I never used it. And I have to note, Fraps does have a framerate drop; it has an automatic measurement of your framerate, both while recording and not recording. It reduces the framerate to exactly what you specify (usually that would either be 30 or 29 frames per second), so your output has the exact framerate used for videos online. @Nmenth, if you need any help in converting videos and uploading them, I can help. I've had some experience capturing in-game videos and converting them to perfect 720-p for YouTube. >

Sounds pretty interesting, though you seem to be planning something huge. A lot of new models for sure. Damn, you make me think of reinstalling all of my legacy C&C games just to be able to play your mods. > If you want any ideas about storyline, feel free to ask me (am I such an arrogant nut or what). I love writing stories, maybe I can help you and let you put more time into the technical stuff. >

Just out of a n00b's curiosity, is C4D (Cinema 4D) usable for rendering models for ZH modding? I know 3DS works for sure, and I kinda have a feeling that Maya just might work as well (correct my n00bishness if I am wrong). And @ Nmenth, I'm pretty curious if you plan to go this solo. I'm pretty interested about the storyline development (I'm a fan-fic nut, that's why).
-
Whew. You've just given me reason enough to wipe the dust of my copy of RA2 and YR. Impressive work, and even more so considering everything is your solo work! Btw, Fraps would do well in video capturing. Just make sure you have lots of HDD space when recording in full size. It's pretty effective for any game (hell, if it recorded StarCraft ONE perfectly, it sure as hell would work on anything newer).
