I purchased the CnC : First Decade disc a few days ago, to relive my fav RTS series.
After introducing a younger gaming enthusiast to the series (particularly RA:YR) my friend, who was about 10 yrs old when the game first came out, he became excited about playing the game as well. He quickly ran out to purchase a copy for himself.
The problem is, when we attempt to play G:ZH in a LAN game together, we can see one anothers lobbies, even join lobbies and pick factions and teams. But, when we start the game, the loading screen for each of us indicates that the other failed to load (i.e. their progress bar on the loading screen remains empty while our respective bars fill).
We then both receive a notice that the other player has disconnected from the game.
The game plays well otherwise, with no problems. But, we really made the purchase to play together. I was able to sort a Red Alert 2 LAN with minimal effort, as there are many forums and solutions available for the lack of native IPX support.
However, all the forums I find on G:ZH indicate compatibly issues I do not encounter.
Both, PCs are running Windows 7, obviously there is no question as to system requirements (with a bit more RAM my smartphone could run these games )
I made no modifications to the game files whatsoever, just fresh installs. We are both running the game with Admin level privileges.
Any help would be appreciated.
