What is your favorite version of Dune 2?
Spinvis replied to panzeroceania's topic in The First Decade Patch 1.04
Just the other way around actually Sonar. OpenDune is a remake, game remade from scratch to mimic the original, plus you do not need the original data files to play the game, and it is open source. Dune Legacy is a "source" port or to give a better name, "reverse-engineered" engine, since the source was never released. Plus you need the original data files in order to play the original game, in a updated engine, and it is also open source. Anyway, does anybody know where to place the optional mp3 files for Dune Legacy? According to the ini file there needs to be four folders (from the top of my head); attack, peace, intro and another one i forgot. The attack and intro are easy, but where to i put the rest of the mp3 files? -
That solved it, thanks for that neat little trick. I'm on Win XP SP3 btw. Cheers, Spin.

Ey Nyerguds, one little "glitch" i noticed in 1.06c rev 2 beta 8. The cnc-ddraw.ini file gets copied to whatever location i put my shortcut to C&C95.exe too, if i put the shortcut on the desktop the cnc-ddraw.ini gets copied there, if i put the shortcut in my start menu the cnc-ddraw.ini gets copied there, etc... you get the picture. This "glitch" doesn't happen with RA and the high resolution patch together with cnd-ddraw, so my guess its a specific C&C95 1.06c problem. I forgot if this happened with the 1.06c rev 2 fix 1 patch as well Anyway, so far so good, except for one crash i reported here: link. I love the remixed music btw, a real keeper for me. Cheers, Spin.

Suggestions for Nyerguds C&C TDawn 1.06c
Spinvis replied to cncfan's topic in Command & Conquer Patch 1.06
Awesome, that worked perfectly, thanks a lot Nyerguds. -
For CnC-DDraw you must place the .dll file in your C&C 95 and Red Alert 1 folders, the RA high res patch you must place it in your Red Alert 1 folder. Tiberian Sun Firestorm videos addon you must put the files in the C&C Tiberian Sun folder. Also read the readme's included or on the websites.

Ok, cool, looking forward to your next update CCHyper.

Hi Sonarpulse, one thing that is not clear for me yet, do i still need the TLF_RA95.exe and .dat files to run The Lost Files extra videos? Or can i just use the normal RA95?

Patch seems to work fine, however i have found a bug in the TFD V2 version, it doesn't play the opening videos of mission 1 for GDI and NOD anymore with the patch. Something that was fixed with The First Decade - Unofficial Patch 1.03 rev 4.
-
Install TFD, download Command & Conquer: The First Decade - Unofficial Patch 1.03 rev 4, install, thats it. However, if you want to be fully up to date, install the following patches as well: 1) install C&C95 1.06 revision 1. 2) install C&C95 1.06 revision 1 fix 1. 3) install RA 3.03 patch, edited by Nyerguds to add TFD support and extra fixes. Seems a updated version of what is included in TFD 1.03 rev 4. 4) install CnC-DDraw for C&C95 and RA, plus the RA high res patch. 5) Tiberian Sun Firestorm videos addon. Seems a updated version of what is included in TFD 1.03 rev 4.

Progress so far, Renegade Core Patch 1 refused to install properly and screwed up my Renegade installation. So that is a no go. The rest all works fine, except that i now have to reinstall TFD completely again since i reinstalled Renegade, ran 1.03 rev 4 patch again, and now TS won't start anymore, failed to initialize, please reinstall... sigh...

Tiberian Dawn - Single Player missions
Spinvis replied to Chimas's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations Maps & Modding
Ey Solo, i doubt i will find old dusty C&C disks since i moved to South Africa a few years ago and i couldn't take everything with me. I do remember having some (un)official map packs on CD for RA and C&C, but i have no idea if they are still there, nor do i remember their names. I will however post bug reports whenever i find one in the mappack. Cheers, Spin. -
Hi Plokite_Wolf, thanks for the reply, didn't know that TFD patch 1.03 r4 contained all the patches from the 1.01 and 1.02 patches. Thanks, will throw them away then since i do not need them anymore. Always just used Nyerguds guide to installing TFD and his clean up tools, this is the first time for me using the 1.03 r4 patch. Yes, i have Launchbase already, so that won't be an issue with the YR 1.002 patch, thanks. Regarding the RA 3.03 patch, it seems that Nyerguds updated it to include, and i quote: Dated 18-Oct-2010, while TFD patch 1.03 r4 is dated somewhere April 2009. Same goes for the Tiberian Sun Firestorm videos addon, also dated later then TFD patch 1.03 r4. Probably only Nyerguds can answer the question of what was updated exactly and if it is better to use the updated versions or not. Anyway, thanks a lot for the answers Plokite_Wolf, time to start playing and start bugging HiFi and Nyerguds with any bugs i discover

Hi all, Just wanted to confirm the installation order for the TFD patches, and whether or not i am doing it the right way. Last night i installed TFD after two years again. Anyway, i did it like this: 1) install TFD. 2) install TFD patch 1.01. 3) install TFD patch 1.02. 4) install TFD patch 1.03 rev 4. 5) install C&C95 1.06 revision 1. 6) install C&C95 1.06 revision 1 fix 1. 7) install RA 3.03 patch, edited by Nyerguds to add TFD support and extra fixes. Seems a updated version of what is included in TFD 1.03 rev 4. 8) install CnC-DDraw for C&C95 and RA, plus the RA high res patch. 9) Tiberian Sun Firestorm videos addon. Seems a updated version of what is included in TFD 1.03 rev 4. Is this the correct order? Am i forgetting something? Additionally i am also gonna install the RA2 1.007, YR 1.002 and Renegade Core Patch 1 patches tonight. Cheers, Spin.
