  1. I didn't know where to post it since it actually works with all classic westwood games (td, ra, ts, ra2, dune 2000). DDrawCompat is a DirectDraw proxy dll just like cnc-ddraw, ts-ddraw, ddwrapper. It improved the performance dramatically for everyone who tested it yet (went over 14000 FPS in ra1 for me!!). It also solves the alt+tab bugs on windows 8/10 (and the menu bugs too). It should work fine on Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10. (We had no one to try Vista yet) Even if you don't have any issues with the games, it's still worth a try. It prevents slow downs in big battles online or even in skirmish with AI. Give it a try: https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases Note: use the latest experimental release
  2. Oh sorry... yeah C&C General Discussion sounds like a better place, thanks
  3. Did you use the following installer? http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta11r6.exe
  4. Download http://downloads.cncnet.org/TSpatch.exe Features Fix for the main menu problems on Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 ( Black Screen / Invisible Menu / Freezing ) Fix for the following error: "A mouse is required for playing Tiberian Sun." Fix for the following error: "One or more DLL files were missing or damaged. Please reinstall." Fix for the following error: "Error: Unable to set video mode" Crash fix for resolutions with more than 1200 height (up to 4k 3960x2640 and more is supported) Random freezing can be fixed by setting "Single Processor Affinity" via the config Graphics Patch - http://www.stuffhost.de/files/cnc/ Hyperpatch - http://www.ppmforums.com/index.php?f=574 Online support via CnCNet with hundreds of players Final Sun Map Editor Game Launcher Config Program Compatibility The patch has been tested with The First Decade/The Ultimate Collection/Clean CD Install (version 2.03 is required) Note: The patch is NOT compatible with any other unofficial patches, please make sure you are only using it on a clean official unmodified installation! The unofficial The First Decade Patch will -not- work in combination with this patch! Some missions will not be playable anymore if you install TSpatch and the unofficial The First Decade Patch into the same game folder. Windows 7 The menu bug (Black Screen/Invisible Menu/Freezing) should only occur on windows 8 / 8.1 / 10, if you are running into a similar bug on Windows 7 then the problem is most likely related to broken drivers. Read this for more info: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=3438.msg32933#msg32933 You can also try to enable DDwrapper+DirectDraw Emulation in the config program.
  5. @krvz For Skirmish/Online/LAN better use this download: http://funkyfr3sh.cnc-comm.com/files/CnCNet.dmg If you like to play the campaign then you could install it into this wrapper rather than creating a new one. If you prefer to create a new wrapper: WS9WineCX14.1.10 use mac driver add ddraw override use ddwrapper with NoVideoMemory set Edit: Here is a full tutorial for creating a new wrapper for the full game install https://forums.cncnet.org/topic/5895-is-there-a-list-of-wineskin-settings-anywhere/?do=findComment&comment=47499
  6. Sorry for the late response, didn't check the forums for some time. Your problem is that you probably tried to apply multiple patches at the same time. TSpatch only works on a clean unmodified installation
  7. Our community member Ph0t0n is hosting a $300 Red Alert 1 tournament this weekend 14th of May. To register, please create a challonge.com account and send a message to ORA-RA168UK, [AFO]THNDER or []-Ph0t0n in the CnCNet game client. For all information visit http://challonge.com/bd1wmcuu
  8. Freezing issues in C&C95

Windows XP compatibility mode is known to cause games to freeze on windows 8 / 8.1 / 10
  9. try this: http://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=2889.0
  10. I had to disable the window mode checkbox in the config tool for windows 8/10 users since too many people reported problems with it (thats why it does indeed uncheck itself) I have been working recently on something new that fixes the alt+tab problems on windows 8/10, it also comes with a new window mode that works fine on windows 8/10. The new window mode does also lock your cursor inside of the window unlike the original window mode! Everything is based on a tool named DxWnd made by gho, I turned it into a proxy .dll for ease of use. It is not done yet, but will be soon included in TSpatch! If you like, try it out already now (extract the files into your game folder) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5by5H1Q2PxEelRrcFkwanZCZmM/view You can enable the window mode via the .ini file that is included in the .zip (RunInWindow=Yes) These files also work for Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge and I heard it also works for westwood Nox You can also try what Plokite_Wolf said, he describes the official way of doing!
  11. Just tested it again, works fine here The address looks weird, don't know what this one is about
  12. you can get it here: http://downloads.cncnet.org/Games/CommandAndConquer/hotkeys-and-extended-sidebar.zip
  13. 1.06c development topic

For those who like to mess around with new features like the hotkey editor, extended sidebar: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/td/hotkeys-and-extended-sidebar.zip Like nyer said, we are using this one on cncnet only so I cannot guarantee it will work in single player mode
  14. Did you maybe try to run the patches with compatibility mode for Windows 98 too? That won't work, the recent inno setup versions will only work for XP and above, Windows 98 compatibility mode would fake the version and you could end up with such problems. What I don't understand is how the patches can slow down your pc if they are not even starting up
  15. I'm looking for some testers for this campaign, i ported it to the new version of Red Alert (303p-Iran) ! If you dont have the latest RA version yet, download it here: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1918 Please leave some feedback! If the campaign works well then i might port another Flame Dancers campaign with 16 missions.. flamedancers-genesis.zip
  16. Red Alert modding

For CnCNet skirmish you will need to modify the file named spawn.xdp (it is just a renamed rules.ini file)
  17. Play in Windows 98

copy the folder over, place this file inside of it and fire it up: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/ts/game.exe
  18. Right, I think there are no-cd patches that take care of the base blowing up too (Maybe Ares?) There was also a tool to change the serial after the installation, it should be on the xwis site http://xwis.net/downloads/ Could be xwisc.exe, but cannot remember
  19. Just use tore's installer, that way you can keep the 1.03 patch and have a working TS at least. To prevent the base from blowing up you will need to have the correct registry key, if something is blocking the registry (security programs? You are not logged in as admin?) then you could still get a no-cd patch somewhere
  20. PortableRA Beta

He is working on Red Alert 2 atm, I was doing some new Red Alert 1 patches but i don't have the single-player stuff ported yet so it could not be used in portableRA atm
  21. We found out that my TS patch is not compatible with the unofficial 1.03 patch for any reason, so he needs to make sure that only one of the patches are installed I tried to get it working with the 1.03 patch but it didn't work out sadly
  22. PortableRA Beta

I'm pretty sure we removed the images some time ago because of these graphical glitches
  23. I just updated the package, it comes now with all standard+counterstrike+aftermath maps and a new map browser with previews, maybe that helps
  24. Update: 4 crash fixes for old westwood bugs Supports now loading maps via command line (drag and drop a map on top of edwin.exe) Loading maps with long filenames is now possible, the old limit of 13 chars has been raised to 256 chars External map browser has been added (RedAlertEditorLauncher.exe)
  25. Download: http://downloads.cncnet.org/Games/RedAlert/edwinHighRes.zip Features: [*]High Resolution Patch [*]Standalone (Runs without having Red Alert installed) -> edwin.ini -> [Options]RedalertMix= [Options]MainMix= [*]Multiple instances are now possible, start the editor as often as you need [*]No disk space error has been fixed [*]No-CD patch [*]Crash fixes [*]Loads a new settings file named "edwin.ini" (change your resolution in there) [*]Too fast scrollrate is fixed -> edwin.ini -> [Options]SlowerScrollRate=Yes [*]Tile selection via mousewheel and category selection via mouse middle button [*]Loads now a blank mega map with 126x126 size instead of 96x96 size on startup [*]Multi-Language support -> edwin.ini -> [Options]EditorLanguage (0=English, 1=French, 2=German) [*]Supports now loading maps via command like (drag and drop a map on top of edwin.exe) [*]Loading maps with long filenames is now possible, the old limit of 13 chars has been raised to 256 chars [*]External map browser has been added (RedAlertEditorLauncher.exe) [*]Loads any custom theater (Jungle, Winter and Desert are already included)! Here is how it works: - Lets say we create a new theater named "herpderp", you will now have to do the following things: - 1. Add the following key to a map to enable it: [Map]Theater=herpderp - 2. Create a mix file named "herpderp.mix" - 3. Create your custom tiles and give them as extension the name ".her" (the first 3 chars of the theater name) - 4. Put your custom tiles into "herpderp.mix" and move "herpderp.mix" into "raed1.mix"
