  1. Here in New Zealand its the 1st of January, its 2017, its time for a fresh start. That's how we see things here at CNCNZ.com. We can look back on 2016 as very disappointing year in C&C Community. Another year in which EA stay silent about the franchise's future. Sure we had some rumours, but they were far fetched at best. We have tried to keep things happening around here but it has been difficult in recent months. As life changes so does our site. We like to keep our regular features like Throwback Thursday and Music Monday rolling out each week but we have skipped the odd one here and there. There are no plans to retire these features though, we are strategizing behind the scenes to make sure these get done in a timely fashion. We are also discussing ideas for new features and new content. Like I always do each New Year, a quick list of credits to thank those who have helped with CNCNZ.com in the past year. Big thanks to Plokite_Wolf, who rejoined our team during the year. He took over Throwback Thursday and kept the news updates flowing. The rest of the CNCNZ.com Staff, our supporters, loyal visitors and forum members, as well as our friends from around the community who have contributed content and information for the site and forums throughout the year. Another year of excellent support from our hosts, MyHost New Zealand. So it's a Happy New Year from CNCNZ.com! Welcome to 2017!
  2. So here we are in 2016. We can look back on 2015 in the Command & Conquer community as year of transition from all directions. We still got nothing from EA about the future of the franchise so no real change there. But we did see many significant mod releases, Renegade modding teams splitting and forging their own paths. Lots of cool fan created media. There was a resurgence in the people playing the classic Command & Conquer games online thanks to the outstanding efforts of CnCNet. And of course for the more modern Command & Conquer games, player numbers are healthy on C&C:Online. And for us here at CNCNZ.com it was a year of important changes to secure the future of the site moving forward. Through the first six months of 2015 we battled on going issues with our hosting and server performance. These problems forced a change of hosting. And this saw CNCNZ.com successfully return home to New Zealand shores in June. Now we move onto 2016, what does this year have in-store for us as Command & Conquer fans? Will EA break their silence and finally resurrect Command & Conquer? All we can do is wait and see. Time for a quick list of credits and special mentions to all who keep CNCNZ.com ticking. The CNCNZ.com Staff, supporters, visitors and members on our forums, as well as our friends from around the community who have contributed content and information for the site and forums throughout the year. Our excellent hosts, MyHost New Zealand, especially when I screwed things up early in December. So it's a Happy New Year from CNCNZ.com! Welcome to 2016!
  3. A little late in posting this, as its already ticked over to the 2nd of January here in New Zealand. It's well and truly 2015 everywhere in the world now. I guess we can look back on 2014 as very disappointing year in terms of Command & Conquer. With no official word from EA about the franchise's future since the October 2013 cancellation of Command & Conquer, it was extremely difficult to keep CNCNZ.com fresh and updated. Many of our staff have moved on (or lost interest) and anything that was in the works has been put on on hold indefinitely. We did keep up with most modding news though, but we can only post so much. In the past couple months my own motivation as dropped somewhat. It wasn't all doom and gloom during the past Command & Conquer year though. The Totem Arts team deserve some recognition for delivering two major releases of Renegade X. The rebirth of Renegade's unrivalled gameplay received plenty of coverage here at CNCNZ.com and lots of high praise around the community. On a personal note, Renegade X would have to be my C&C highlight of the year. And the efforts of Revora creating C&C: Online must be mentioned as well. Games like Generals, Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 would be dead and buried without C&C: Online. stepping in after the demise of GameSpy. So make sure you give them some support, especially if you still continue to play online and have fun doing so. As I've always done in the past, I post a quick list of credits and thanks to those who make CNCNZ.com possible. The CNCNZ.com Staff have contributed unique content for the site and forums throughout the year. For many years now our friends at at Revora have provided our hosting, without their support CNCNZ.com would obviously be nothing. Many thanks and respect goes to all supporters, visitors and members on our forums, as well as other our friends through out the Command & Conquer Community. So it's a Happy New Year from CNCNZ.com! We have no idea what 2015 holds for Command & Conquer. Will EA blow the dust off the franchise and bring it back? Is the franchise still relevant? I will admit for the first time in many years I'm not sure if CNCNZ.com will make it to 2016, but my commitment remains strong. Let's take it month by month and see how things go.
  4. It's officially 2013, well for us in New Zealand it is anyway. 2012 is done. We can look back on 2012 as year of rebuilding for the future for CNCNZ.com and the Command & Conquer franchise as well. We have seen our community change with many sites falling into an inactive state. But the one thing that stayed the same was CNCNZ.com, we just kept on powering through it all! As always, I'd like to share a quick list of credits and thanks to those who make CNCNZ.com possible. A big thanks to the CNCNZ.com Staff for their efforts on the site and forums. Super hosting from our friends at Freedom Studios and Revora. All of our visitors, members on our forums, and everyone who submitted files, artwork, wallpapers and anything to be posted on the site this year. So it's Happy New Year from CNCNZ.com! Join us right in 2013 for more coverage of the new Command & Conquer, the community and more.
  5. The year 2011 has officially ended for us down under in New Zealand, and we are now in 2012. So, in a way, I'm posting this from the future. It's a new Command & Conquer year for us all now. As I've done in the past, I'd like to share a quick list of credits and thanks to those who make CNCNZ.com possible. A big thanks to the CNCNZ.com Staff for their efforts on the site and forums. Our friends at Freedom Studios and Revora for the hosting. All of our visitors, members on our forums, and everyone who submitted files, artwork, wallpapers and anything to be posted on the site this year. Thanks to EA for keeping Command & Conquer alive and announcing Generals 2! Happy New Year from CNCNZ.com! Join us right through out 2012 for more coverage of Command & Conquer, the community and has we follow the development of Command & Conquer: Generals 2.
