Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted July 17, 2008 First, I need some basic information, such as Operating System, installed anti-virus tools, etc. Did you try doing the obvious things, like re-installing the game, apply patches, etc.? Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted July 17, 2008 http://www.portforward.com/guides.htm have a look through that. it'll explain everything about forwarding and firewalls one step at a time... go through that and come back if you still haven't fixed it o.o if there is a problem connecting your pc's to the router i'd recommend going to BT's site and looking for information there. a quick computer/router installation in short... open the router's options (normally a webpage. the portforward guide should give you the address specifically for your router) and make sure it's all turned on. go to the computers you want attached to the router and go to control panel then network and sharing (or whatever similar for XP. i'm working with vista here but they are similar in these respects) and look for something along the lines of connect to a network. clickie that and follow through the options. if you have a WEP key on the router you will have to put that in to connect to the network, and chances are you will probably have to confirm the computers in the routers options to make sure it's accepted. good luck and come back with any questions or further problems Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted July 17, 2008 What is a "homehub", "bthub"? Do you mean a router? Share this post Link to post
jenren 0 Posted July 18, 2008 What is a "homehub", "bthub"? TheBlackOut 7 Posted July 18, 2008 I am sorry I just never heard of that brand before... now I know. Anyways, it worked before you say? That leads me to believe it's having to do with ports... ports are hard to grasp when you have no idea about them, but it's fairly simple to do. http://www.portforward.com/english/routers...iberian_Sun.htm These are honestly the easiest instructions there are.. just follow them and pray. Try it first with the computer that is trying to host the game, if it still doesn't work after that, try opening ports for BOTH computers. If it doesn't work, come back here. Mina Synd 0 Posted July 20, 2008 it's a british router system. BT (british telecom) homehub (which is usually a router, a phone and sometimes satellite tv as well) like i said previously, go on portforward.com. if you can't do it, or don't understand it, find the person who installed the router and get them to do it.
