GameSpy Go Hands On with Red Alert 3

GameSpy have posted a short one page preview of Red Alert 3 based on their experiences with the Empire of the Rising Sun faction at E3. This preview features the same E3 Trailer and screen shots we recently posted here. Anyway here is a sample from GameSpy's preview....

 

The good news for less-skilled gamers is that even the more micro-intense Rising Sun doesn't seem like that much of a bear to manage. This is no doubt due in part to being designed with a console controller interface in mind but also because Red Alert 3 shares with Command & Conquer 3 the kind of old-school brute-force RTS gameplay that's not seen much anymore. It'll be interesting to see how the Kabuki madness of Rising Sun meshes with a Soviet military that drops parachuting armored bears (and a no doubt equally strange Alliance military) when the game releases this October.
