Problems Registering

Unreleated. But a couple of people seem to be having trouble signing upto the forums.

As for the registration problems here. I tested it and it would be let me past despite trying 5 times. IPS made several changes to IP.Board last month to combat the attack of spam bots. One of these changes was the addition of the reCAPTCHA service. Now this is very good at keeping the spammers and bots out but there is minor bug where the input field for reCAPTCHA is black and so is the text. No matter what I try I can make the text or background white for this input field.

 

So I've turned reCAPTCHA back on and tested the user registration, it worked. You just have highlight the reCAPTCHA field to read what you have typed.

It was in our bug reports area, so i guess you have to be logged in to see it.

They seem to have an issue with their Security Code Confirmation (the bit where u have to type in a fe numbers and letters.

 

Firstly, no I didn't just mess up, i tried it liturally 25 - 30 times and I also got about 4 other people to give it a shot and they got the same.

 

Its hard to get it right as its caps sensitive and you often can't tell which of the letters in the image are caps or not but even when u do get 1 which is all caps or for which you can tell, it still says its wrong.

 

I posted this because

 

A. The guys who admin that forums need to know

 

B. Maybe this is a know issue and someone can tell me away around it

We I received no reports of this problem until yours drunkill.

 

And yes while I was testing I had some problem with the other security check, its hard to tell if the letters are lower or upper case. Either way legitimate users should be able to register now despite the annoying display bug with the reCAPTCHA check I mentioned above.

 

If you want to mention that the registration is somewhat fixed here on the CNCNZ.com in that thread on the APB forums that would help those who are interested in signing up here.

Sorry Srowell3 I never received your e-mail. My only guess is my spam filters shot it down and binned it. Had I noticed a problem with the registration page I would have fixed it sooner. Sorry about the inconvenience.
