C & C 3 and kane's wrath D3D error

He everyone,

 

I have a problem for a long time and i tried searching but i couldn't find anything, so I hoped you guys can help me.

 

When i play, it doesn't matter if its single/multi-player or campaign i always get this strange errors. Only in multiplayer it does'nt occur verry often. I get these errors: D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR, D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE, E_OUTOFMEMORY. All these errors come with a bunch of addresses for example: (unknown)(0): cnc3ep1.dat+36406 Debug::PreStatic+2306, (unknown)(0): kernel32.dll+94167 RegisterWaitForInputIdle+73, (0): (unknown mod) (unknown), (unknown)(0): cnc3ep1.dat+10976348 AptCharacterInst::GetRenderItem+5131696. Because of the severity of this error the game will now exit

 

This is strange because i could always play this and then out of nothing i got errors.

 

My computer specs (i know its old):

 

Pentium IV 2.0 Ghz

3 X 256 = 768 MB DDRI

Windows XP service pack 2

Kane's wrath 1.01/Tiberium Wars 1.09

FX 5200 128 MB ForceWare 175.16

 

If you need any other information ask for it

 

I really hope you can help repairing this, otherwise i will be unable to play this game I really want to finish the campaign and be able to play global conquest

I'm not sure about the errors but by the look of it you could do with some more memory, your graphics card is fine (I had that one)

And maybe a better processor.

Have you been overclocking your graphics card? if so, you may have fried it.

Your just on the minimum specs for C&C 3/KW. It maybe crashing because you are possibly running the game oh high details when your system can't handle it. Try reducing the details and see how it goes.

 

An FX 5200 is a low end video card, plus with only 768 MB there is very little to spare once Windows XP has loaded. You can try shutting down background apps to free up resources.

Thanks for the reply, I have never overclocked my hardware but if my videocard cooling isn't working good could that also kill my card?

 

I also looked at the forums on www.commandandconquer.com and a lot of other people had the same kind problem

He thanks for the reply, but the strange thing is that the first half year (or somehting like that) I played this game on 512 MB and it worked fine. And I always play on the low preset settings. And I always close things like MSN, Skype and TeamSpeak in the right corner of my taskbar and I keep my firewall and anti-virus on, should I close those to?
