Sgt.Scotty 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Ok so I got the "new" worldbuilder from gamespot (i think its from there) and I install it like it says and I click the Worldbuilder.exe file and it opens up the loading screen but it stops at the very end of loading and does nothing.....Ive let it load for 15+ minutes last time and when I returned it still wasn't done loading so my question is, am I doing it all right? What I did: 1) Downloaded Kane's wrath worldbuilder 2) Unzipped to desktop 3) Installed Worldbuilder to the drive that KW was installed in(D Drive) 4) Went into Program files and whatnot, clicked Worldbuilder.exe and wasted my time waiting for it to load... The only thing I can think of is the readme says I should have updated KW to 1.01 and I have 1.02, didn't think that was relevant but it might be. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Sonic 296 Posted May 30, 2009 Try completely uninstalling Worldbuilder and make sure have downloaded Kane's Wrath Worldbuilder 1.1. You should also make sure your computer is able to run it. If you struggle to run Kane's Wrath Worldbuilder will be even worse. Grab Kane's Wrath Worldbuilder 1.1 from http://www.cncnz.com/downloads/kaneswrath/utilities/#1 Share this post Link to post

Grab Kane's Wrath Worldbuilder 1.1 from http://www.cncnz.com/downloads/kaneswrath/utilities/#1 I currently have Worldbuilder 1.1 but I have the game updated to 1.2 and the worldbuilder's readme says I should have the game at 1.1 but I would assume that 1.2 is compatible with the worldbuilder. I can't bump the game down to 1.1 because you need 1.2 to play online so im sorta confused on what to do because they dont have a worldbuilder v1.2 so.... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted June 3, 2009 You should be using the latest game version, everything in patch 1.01 is in patch 1.02. If your running Windows Vista or a Windows 7 beta/RC try setting the compatibility mode for the Worldbuilder to Windows XP. Some info here, even though its for the TW Worldbuilder http://www.cnclabs.com/maps/cnc3/worldbuil...readyboost.aspx Share this post Link to post

Sonic 296 Posted June 4, 2009 I heard you have to uninstall some things to get this to work...is that true. If so, please tell me what to uninstall plz and thanks I only suggested uninstalling so you could try a clean install of Worldbuilder. You haven't mentioned anything about the computer, what is your CPU type and speed, amount of RAM etc..... If you have a slow CPU and not enough RAM Worldbuilder will struggle. Well I dont really know my rig all too well , It plays KW just fine w/ default graphics options but I know for a fact I have 512 MB ram. Correct me if I'm wrong but with the worldbuilder already on the disc, isn't it practically installed once I install the game... I also did eboostr (the windows xp version of Readybooster) with my 2G flashdrive so that should help out a bit. Tried running Worldbuilder by exploring the disk and clicking worldbuilder.exe and this is what I got... Edited June 6, 2009 by Sonic Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted June 6, 2009 Worldbuilder can't be run off the CD, it must be installed. Worldbuilder doesn't install when you install the game. I would try completely removing any version of the KW Worldbuilder you may have and then reinstall using the download available at http://www.cncnz.com/downloads/kaneswrath/utilities/#1. Then obviously update KW using the EA auto updater then downloading the newest version of the worldbuilder via the link provided, Right? Also, could you tell me how exactly to install it correctly cause I might have done it wrong. Edited June 7, 2009 by Sgt.Scotty Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted June 7, 2009 As I said before, Worldbuilder doesn't install when you install the game. They are completely separate. If you uninstall the game the Worldbuilder will still be installed. You won't have to remove Kane's Wrath (or any game). Simply use Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Worldbuilder from there. Then reinstall it. There is only one way to install Worldbuilder, and that is to run the .exe file once its downloaded. Share this post Link to post
Sgt.Scotty 0 Posted June 10, 2009 hmm the same thing happened again, I removed worldbuilder via add and remove programs then redownloaded and installed it via the link you gave me and it gets about 90% done loading then stops and craps up my computer. I think Im gonna try and get worldbuilder working on my brother's desktop seeing as it's a tad bit better. Share this post Link to post
