David Silverman

I'm David Silverman, but you may know me better as the Creator of C&C TV and BattleCast Primetime or my former role as the Host of BattleCast Primetime. I started working at EA back in 2004 through sheer force of will, determination, and harassment! I literally called or emailed the Director of Marketing every other day for six straight weeks until he gave me a chance as a contractor. I've had the privilege of working on various products at EA, and was honored to take on the beloved Command & Conquer franchise back in 2006. Command & Conquer was one of the very first PC games I ever bought and to this day both my Dad and I are avid C&C fans.

Favorite Game: I love playing all kinds of games, but my favorite are probably the RPGs and the shooters. I'm a HUGE Mass Effect and Final Fantasy VII fan!

What I'm doing on a Friday night: Sleeping! (It's always a LLLOONNGG WEEK!)

I like to say that I was born for this job, having played videogames my entire life - I actually have some photos of a 2-year old version of myself holding an Atari controller. I have to say it's been kind of cool growing up with the videogame industry.

When I finally got the go-ahead from EA execs to give C&C TV a shot, I was ecstatic and looked at it as an opportunity to bring something to the RTS genre and gaming community that had never been done before and truly unique. We started constructing the studio back in March of 2007 and to be honest, I had no friggin' idea what the hell I was doing. Around June we shot our first ‘internal pilot' and we actually had a hired actress as the co-anchor (you may have notice her as one of the Geisha girls in Red Alert 3 - she was wearing the red kimono). After reviewing the footage from that, things just didn't feel right and the show wasn't where it needed to be. It lacked something... something like a 6ft Indian man named, Raj! We delayed the debut of BCPT to August much to the dismay of the C&C fans and on release day, both Raj and I were scared beyond belief. We thought the fans would hate it and EA would be ripped to shreds. Thankfully, that never happened and quite the opposite occurred. The dedicated C&C fans embraced C&C TV from the get-go and we've never looked back. From that point on, it was easy to launch Command School (a show concept that was always part of the initial plan) and we even gave BCPT Aftermath a shot.

Being a part of BattleCast Primetime was one of the greatest moments of my career at EA and something that I will never forget. Leaving the show was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make and to this day, I still miss it. Thankfully, I managed to leave BCPT in more than capable hands and I have no doubt that they will be able to take it to even greater heights.

As for me, who knows what the future will hold. Maybe you'll see me on the net somewhere with another hare-brained idea. Or maybe you'll just see me at a convention or in-line waiting to see a taping of American Gladiators (inside BCPT joke). Just be sure to stop me and say, "HI!" I love meeting and interacting with all of you guys. I've said it before and I'll say it again, BCPT and C&CTV was always created by C&C fans for C&C fans and the only reason the show still exists is because of all of your support and submissions!

See you on the Battlefield!

P.S. Eye of the Tiger!
