New Unit, help needed

Also, could anybody help me, im trying to create a unit, like the virus but instead of killing the the unit it turns the person into a brute, or another unit, for example a monkey <only a random example>

Also, the gas clouds turning units in to these other units could be useful too

 

if anybody could help it wud be greatly appreciated

Well i checked and all i could find was opne asking about having it in basic red alert 2, and with the answer no <obv>

 

If anyone knows how to do this PLEAASE tell me!

Create a weapon and give it the warhead Mutate.

 

To change the type of unit you need to edit the general section. though I dont remember if it can have more than one type. ex. E2,Brute

Damn, i wos hoping i could create a weapon like it so i cud have variations, without changing the special weapon.

Technically, you CAN have variations.

 

You need a new animation.

 

[ANIM01]

Image=ANIM01

Normalized=yes

MakeInfantry=1

 

Normally, MakeInfantry is set to 0.

 

Now you have to edit AnimToInfantry in rulesmd to add your infantry. You can have as many as you'd like. Only one problem, the new infantry will not be on your side.

ah k0ol, thnx... but i'm still unsure of how to create another unit <like a sniper> that can shoot an infantry and 'mutate' them into this new unit!

 

Basically, i wanted a sniper that could change enemies into 'mindless' zombies, so that sounds plausable, but then when they are like that they can kill another human and they also will turn to a zombie. Similar to the sniper's weapon xcept without the range.

 

U understand? im just baffled as to how to give this option to a weapon!

I duno, i was thinking targetting anyone, including the people that created them' to attack. I think this wud be better as zombies don't tend to be on a team, altho i wudn't want them attack each other, if u know wot i mean! :)

Copy and paste the Sniper rules and change the weapon to your new one.

I do understand. The warhead must have the new animation you made to mutate the infantry. You can use InfDeath=9 to create Brutes.

If you add to the AnimToInfantry list, the new ones will not be under your control. They will be 'Civilian' and will attack you.

Here is the sniper's weapon your looking for. It should mutate an infantry unit into a brute. Then if that brute kills another infantry unit it will also change into a brute. The units should be under your control since its using the mutate warhead.

 

[AWP]

Damage=125

ROF=150

Range=14

Projectile=InvisibleLow

Speed=100

Report=SniperAttack

Warhead=Mutate;HollowPoint

RevealOnFire=no

 

;Warhead

[battering]

InfDeath=9

Thnx a lot evry 1, and Stinger i wos kinda looking for it to be similar to changing them into brute, but not the same... so that i cud have zombies without changing the brute into a zombie... adding a new unit if u get me. And the neutral side bit sounds kol for that but thanks anyway!

I think i understand, wen ive changed everything all i need for the weapons is a warhead with the new anim :)

 

If i get stuck i will come back, and thanks again to both.
