Starting Tactics

Recommended Posts

I had this game for the Xbox360 then I got it for the Computer, but I never played it for the 360 online much. Anyway the strategies are completely different as the game is broken. For the PC I do alright, it's more fair to me and I enjoy it more, however I want some tips to start up my base when I go. I usually play Nod, Black Hand, and occasionally the Marked of Kane. Here's what I build

Primary/secondary

MCV: Crane: Hand of Nod

Crane

Refinery Power Plant

Hand of Nod Refinery

Refinery Power Plant Millitants X10 or Cabals X5 and Rockets X5

Now I think the crane is useless, I usually run 10k credits, same as everyone, I ussually sell my refineries to get the Harvester except for two, after the second refinery I have fund issues. Any ideas?

Alright, I ditched the Crane and noticed a significant improvement to my abilities. Now it's:

Power Plant

Barracks Four Cabal, Four Rockets or Eight Militants and four rockets Shredder turret (Power down shredder)

Refinery

Powerplant

Refinery

War Factory Two harvesters

I dunno about multiplayer, but I use this against the AI (works against Medium, slows down Hard)

  • Power Plant / Reactor
  • Barracks / Hand Of Nod / Portal
  • 3x basic infantry / Buzzers
  • 3x missile infantry / Disintegrators
  • Refinery
Then, I send the infantry immediately to the enemy base (you always know where they are if you play against an odd number of players). Aim for the conyard and everything else you get to destroy.

Then:

  • War Factory / Warp Sphere
  • Second Refinery*
  • 2x Harvesters*
  • 5-7 anti-infantry vehicles
  • 5-6 MBTs
* - you'll lose money at this point, so make the most of the infantry!

If needed, repeat the vehicle creation cycle.

Everything depends on what do you want to do in late game. Mostly due to lack of Tiberium you have to choose between fast expand and early rush - most of the time i try to wall-up around enemy base to buy some time to get better units through spread of Tiberium Rafineries and Harvesters.
