C and C Red alert 1 on LAN with 3 xp pro pc's

Is the fix for playing the game under xp pro, but does anyone know if it solves the LAN problem as well please :?:

The small patch that you can download from http://www.cncnz.com/features/tech/raxpfix.shtml disables LAN play.

 

I'm not sure but have a read through Planet CNC's guide about running the older C&C games on WinXP, http://www.planetcnc.com/features/techtroopers/classicsInXP/

I know this is an old topic, but... I got RA1 LAN working on XP with this:

All you really need is the IPX protocol and the beta 3.03 patch. As long as you stay away from the thipx32.dll patch this works fine.
