Generals:Zero Hour 1.04 installation old file not found

Ok so recently I discovered that I don't have 1.04 and that I need it to play mods so I surfed the net and got info on how to download it, though when I extracted the 1.04 file to my C&C Generals Zero Hour folder and launched it, it refused to download with a message saying "Old File Not Found". Can anybody help?

You are trying to install the patch on either:

a ) a cracked version of v1.00, in which case the patch doesn't recognize the .exe

b ) the version from The First Decade or The Ultimate Collection, in which case you already have the patch installed.
