Serious Error Message on Start

Recommended Posts

Hello! I just recently went through the installation guide, downloading Directx9, TFD unofficial patch, and GenTool (all most recent) for CNC Generals and Zero Hour (both were done at same time). When attempting o run either, the loading screen pops up for a bit before a "Serious Error" message pops up informing me that something isn't working right (if you need a the exact verbage let me know). I go to uninstall all recently downloaded files and reinstall, but only the Generals this time, thinking maybe the problem had to do with attempting to install both at the same time. Same problem occurred. When checking what could have caused the message, the first thing I found was the video card thread, which listed common problems and nonviable cards. I double checked my specs, but my card is not listed in the nonviable section, and only common problem for it would be running a tad slowly. Any help, advice, or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I've been dying to play this ever since I found out I couldn't play it normally on windows 10.
