I get to cofig then i goes black and back to desktop

I start renegade but the config keeps comin up. I managed to get it goin once. What happens is i click on the shortcut on the desktop which shows the splash screen then it goes to config. I then click play and the screen goes black then it fails to load the intro and i go back to desktop. When in windowed mode it tells me that game has caused invalid page fault in game.exe. I have patched the latest version. Updated everything on win98se and my vidoe and direct x are fully updated. Like i said i managed to get it working once. No not a virus or spyware.

Turn off all the advanced features in the config menu. Try different resolutions...

Thanx guys but i fixed the prob. It was an issue with my cd-rw Aopen 5232 Firmware so i updated the firmware and she worked like a charm.

Good to hear you got it fixed

I never thought about CD Drive firmware cauing a problem - I will remember that for future reference.
