Tiberian Dawn on Win2K

Has anyone been able to get C&C Tiberian Dawn to run under Win2K? I have the Compat. app for win, but it only runs Win95/98/NT compatibility. Any idea on what else i should try :?:

Run in Win95/98 compatibility mode, and download the C&C Gold Windows XP patch, which also works for W2k.

Its for WinXP but may work for Win2K. It involves the small patch that Koen mentioned above plus a few other things.

The thing is, I can't get the setup prgm to start. (oh, by the way, it's the dos version of C&C). I changed the compat. for it, and it appears to start, and it keeps running in the background, but there is no gui for me to use for setup. I left it for a while to see if it would eventually come up, but nothing happened. What else could I try?

Everything above is for the Windows 95 edition of the game... AFAIK the Dos version doesn't work.

Yeah forget about trying to run the DOS version under WinXP or 2K.

 

Your better off hunting around the budget software bins for a copy of C&C Gold (the Win95 version).

acribb, If your keen you could try the open source DOSBox program. Just go to http://dosbox.sourceforge.net for all the information about the program.

DOSBox emulates the old DOS environment allowing old DOS games to run.
