Generals Direct Connect Game

Hello, me and some friends are trying to get a game of Generals going, but as some of us dont have original cdkeys we cant connect through EA-Games' servers, one person can direct connect to a game i am hosting, but another can not, the person that can't is behind a router, when he connects to my ip, it gives a message 'connection timed out' we can see him in the game, but then his connection times out and says the player dropped, he thinks that his router is blocking the ports, but we dont know what ports generals uses like i said earlier a different friend can connect and we can play the game perfectly, were all using the same game version and same no-cd patch. Would it make any difference if he hosted the game?

 

I will list my pc specs and the specs of the pc that wont connect to my game.

 

My specs ... pentium 2.4ghz (800fsb) with Hyperthreading, 512mb pc3200, gigabyte 8ik1100, PNY gforce 4 mx440.

 

His specs .. AMD Athlon xp 2100+, 512mb pc2700, abit kd7g, leadtek gforce 4 ti 4800 and his router is a Zoom X4 router/adsl modem.

u gave him a guide for online not for direct connect
