C&C version 1.07 Help

After many years I have uncovered my old C&C original discs the readme says version 1.07, on XP :shock: . I have tried patches and compatibility changes but I can't even get the setup to run. I get the usual boxes for about a second then it reverts to desktop and nothing has changed. Am I doomed to a future of no more C&C :cry:

It all depends on what version of the original C&C your trying to run under Windows XP.

 

If its the classic DOS version, forget it. Its to old.
