FYI Rail guns and Coil guns can hit targets acuratley at ranges of 1500-2000 kilometres

depends who the pilot is. if its me then you prob just bail out 30 sec after ive taken off it may look like i cant fly but i dont crash..... that often. and havent you just riped that of from BF2s intro where the chopper sniper calls arty in on the oil refinery?

Ok so youre in a city or civilians, and there are about 100 enemy insurgents runnign around. You have foiled their primary plan, now you want some cover while the Marines box them in and capture them. A Sniper on a tower 4 klicks away isnt in imediate danger (so he wont need extra guards) but can still provide fire support without killing everybody and everything

 

or like that scene in Saving Private Ryan when the US sniper gets the Gemran sniper through the scope. This new weapon would be excelent as anti sniper support
