Game shuts down after start

Hy,

 

hope you can help me. I am using Windows XP Pro, every time I start the game the screen goes black and nothing happens. The game immediately shuts down after the start.

A few things you can try.....

 

1. Patch Red Alert 2 to version 1.006, download that from http://www.cncnz.com/files/redalert2/patches.shtml

 

2. Try setting the compatibility mode to Windows 98 from the compatibility tab in your RA2 shortcut on your desktop

 

3. There is a patch for WinXP called Windows XP Patch: Game Stops Responding or Quits Unexpectedly When Introductory Video Clip Is Played that (based on Google searching) has worked for some people with this problem.
