I can't get RA2 to work with Win XP - any help?

Hi, I am completely stupid when it comes to computers and I was wondering if you could give me a hand when it comes to get red alert 2 to work with windows xp. I've installed the game and it loads but instead of playing, the screen goes black. I can hear the game running in the background and can interact with it but I can't see it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Wonderful first post, pangeran. Moron. He's talking about Red Alert TWO.

 

Besides, even for RA1 that patch shouldn't be used. It's made for C&C95. RA1's OWN NORMAL patches ALSO fix the XP problem, and even WITHOUT disabling LAN >_<
