I need help w/ my map! please help me!

I just found out how to make maps so I'm only a beginner. I need help on how to do the following:

 

1. Making vehicles neutral so my infantry can get in them

 

2. Setting waypoints (the AI only builds a base then sits there!)

 

3. and is there an AI script for my map somewhere???

 

Also, I cant seem to make it so I can play this map on multiplayer on network even tho the other computers in the house have that map on them! wth is going on?

 

 

Somebody please help me!

1- How to... make an unmanned vehicle - first select your unit, name your unit in the object properties screen. Then click edit scripts. Click PlyrCivilian folder, New script. Under the Actions if True tab click on "Null Operation. (Does nothing.)". Click the edit button then click + unit - make unmanned. Change the "Unit'???'" to the unit you just named. Click OK then ok again on the scripts screen. Make sure your unit is Enabled, Targetable, AI Recruitable, Powered, and Selectable. Chang the aggressiveness to Passive. Do this for every unit. That's it.

 

2- There is 3 different waypoint paths needed for each base. one is the "CenterPathX" where X is the player number corresponding to his start position. Two is the "FlankX" waypoint path. Three is the "BackdoorpathX" path.

 

Now to make these put them in a good position around the enemies base. Use the waypoint tool. Just one waypoint will work but I reccomend using at least two to make a rally starting point then the approach waypoint.

 

Once you make the waypoints you can name the single one "Flank1" for a flank attack point at player one's base. If you want to use more than one waypoint and actually make a "path" then on path labels enter "Flank1" for the same. Then all of the waypoints in that path will have red text "Flank1" under the waypoint name.

 

3- you can also download an AI mod or

after you finish making everything on your map go to edit > edit player list > then click on add skirmish players. Once you do that you can save your map and play it.

 

One thing I did not notice you ask was about trigger areas. I don't know if you did this already but if you haven't, then make an area for every players "innerperimiterX" and "outerperimiterX". Then make one "CombatZone" that is not inside any of those areas. The combat zone should be your most complex area. The perimiters basically should be squares.

 

To make a map work you must put a folder with the exact name of the map into your /Command and Conquer Generals Data/maps/ directory. You might find it in your "My documents" folder. Inside that folder must be the .map and its .tga file which is the preview.

 

so example is

c:Documents and SettingsUsernameMy DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals DataMapsMapname with files mapname.map and mapname.tga

 

Username is who you are logged in as on that particular computer.
