TS Online problem

Recommended Posts

I just reloaded Windows XP SP2 and installed Tiberian Sun and Firestorm. Then i downloaded and installed the 2.03 patch.

When I open Tiberian Sun or Firestorm and click internet it says:

"An upgrade is required for this game do you wnat to download it now?

Warning: use of "trainers", third-party cheat programs, or any other modification of Tiberian sun ma cause the automatic update procedure to fail. Please remove any such programs or reinstall tiberian sun before continuing."

I have not touched tiberian sun, no trainers or mods so I click yes, then it says finding patch and after a few minutes it says unable to download patch check your internet connection and try agian. thats no suprise as I have the latest version but it will not let me play online.

any ideas on how to fix this? I have already reinstalled the game twice

Even with the latest patch, it does need a minor update. I don't know why it's giving the error though. Try uninstalling it, completely deleting the folder and then try again.

I uninstalled and deleted the folder then reinstalled just TS and it crashed every time I tried to open it so I thought that that version just wasnt compatible with XP so I installed firestorm which brought it to version 2.00 that loaded fine and as it should it prompted me to update and i clicked yes it once agian got stuck on the finding patch stage. so i manually downloaded and applied the 2.03 update and relaunched firestorm and clicked internet and it still prompted for an update!!! I clicked yes and it got stuck on finding patch like it always does! what do I do?
