Invisible Infantry/Units??? Plz Help me...

My Problem is the following:

I make a MOD, I've Made new Infantry/Units (including *shp-files and so on)

But my game give me only invisible units

I've Made new cameos, shps, the artmd.ini entries...

I don't know what the problem is, PLEASE HELP ME!

I allready added those two pics as charlie.shp and charlieu.shp and they work perfect in the game.

 

I just want to use the GI character in the game. I gave it a female voice. But once it's build and comes out of the barracks it is invisible. But the GI is a normal GI... can it be because I use two time the GI character?

 

If so , how can I edit the character and make it an apart character?

Ok then, where and how do I add GI2 then.

I have these tools XCC_Utilities, InstallOSSHPBuilder, TibEd.

I'm not very handy with all the stuff, I only started 3 days ago to discover all this stuff.

 

Maybe if you can help me with how I can make my own shp character that can move! And where to place it. I would be helped a bit further.

Since you want to use the GI as your base, extract it from the mix files using the XCC Mixer, rename it gi2.shp and throw it in a custom mix file.

Aaah yes ofcourse. Logical :P , but then another thing. GI.shp can find in which mix file? Because in cameo.mix I only can find the the icons!

 

 

edit: Thanks anyway, I found out myself where to find it! Conquer.mix.

 

Ok. I want to make the color of the GI different now. Any advice how to do that quick! Instead of changing every pixel for pixel and that in 700 frames ? :roll:

 

Maybe you also can tall me which pallette I need to use in XCC mixer to see the best graphical qualities?!

There are tons of palettes but the most frequent ones are anim.pal, cameo.pal and unittem.pal. There are more but many are specialized and used for one or 2 instances like interface elements or, in YR, loading screens.

 

The easiest way to recolor infantry is to copy them as a single PCX, then use Paint Shop Pro to do a mass color replace on the desired color. It will still take a while but this is far less time consuming. However, graphics always take a lot of time... try coloring over 1000+ frames like the SEALs have. >_>

Ok, thank you! Well.. as long I don't have to edit the colors pixel for pixel :)

That would take weeks I geuss!
