Map Problems

Recommended Posts

I have a map that consists of a base in each corner, connected to a square island in the middle by a small strip of land. Surrounding the bases is water.

The problem is the navy cannot get to the other sections of water to attack more than one enemy. I have tried to fix it by connected the land by bridges but this creates an even worse problem with land units. Someone could just blow up the bridges as the units come across. Another problem with that is that the bridge is too narrow to be able to get across if there is more than just a few tanks there. Is there anyway to make the bridges invincible? Or make the navy get from one side of the land to the other?

Thanks in advance.

Ideas: Making the bridges Invincible

Making a tunnel through the land

Making a building like a service depot that chrono's tanks and infantry across the water

Doing the same for the navy

idea's are...

-Dont make the bridges. use transports to get your army across.

-Make a better route for naval ships to travel to attack the enemy.

-Make the outside edge of the map water. Doing this should let all naval units attack anything on the map.

cheers

Thank You. Your last idea works great. Though i do think the teleporting service depot would be cool.

You'd can't modify a building to teleport units to another location on the map, save for the chronosphere, of course... But, I don't believe there is a way to be able to send your units somewhere by sending them to the building... unless it was a repeating trigger... but, I'm still even unsure of that...

I was thinking you make it so that it teleports units to a rally point. A tank moves onto it, the teleport starts, it goes there and the next unit comes on. The problem would be getting it to teleport from the depot and to the rally point without the player doing anything. The AI for moving the units onto and from the depot is already there. It could even be done from one depot to another, and you just fix the teleport ends to the depots. It doesn't have to be owned by the player, it would be a building that you use to get from one place to the next.

My best guess is that you'll have to forget the rally point, and just create a trigger that teleports everything in a given area around a waypoint, to another waypoint.
