Generals Lags when i still got more than the system reqs.nee

My GEnerals game keeps on lagging all the time, i dunno why:

this is the SYSTEM SPECS FOR GENERALS THATS NEEDED:

Recommended Configuration:

Processor: Intel Pentium IV/AMD Athlon - 1.8GHz

Memory: 256 MB RAM or more

Graphics Card: 64MB - Nvidia GeForce 3 or more recent video card

___________________________

Not to mension the MINIMUM reqs:

Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP

Processor: Intel Pentium III/AMD Athlon - 800MHz

Memory: 128 MB RAM

CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Drive: 8x

Hard Disk Space: 1.8 GB

Graphics Card: 32MB - Nvidia GeForce 2 or ATI Radeon 7500 AGP video card or newer supported

Sound Card: 16-bit DirectX 8.1 Compatable

____________________________

Right, my own specs are:

Windows XP PRO,

Intel Centrino (mobile)

512 MB RAM

128 MB Graphic Card

2.0+ GHZ

And the DirectX fully updated

...............Now what the hell is the problem? Ive ran generals at my other 1,8 GHZ, 32 mb Graphic card, 256 RAM computer and it all worked just fine...

BTW im using a laptop, IBM Thinkpad T43... Anyone else who runs Generals at a laptop here??

(bad to the subject) i think the cause is something with my laptop, everytime i pull out the battery charger the game seems to work MUCH smoother and faster like it normally should, but after a couple of seconds (5-15 seconds) it goes back to the same slow motion-mode..... :&

Another thing i noticed that the laptop could be the cause is because that i tried to LOWER the graphics to really MINIMUM and nothing changed...

I tried to only go to a place that uses like LOW-textures like only ground, (in the game) nothing changed its still slow like a ****** *****!!!

Any0n3?

First of all. In such a sitiuation you should try to run the game on a diffrent computer. See what then happens. And in your sitiuation (with the laptop I mean) I'd suggest this particularly

whats the CPU speed of the Centrino processor? If its like most mobile cpu's its actually a bit slower then its desktop counterparts.

Edit: Nevermind!! Didnt see that 2.0ghz part down there..

Yeah you shouldnt have any problem running C&C then, might be a problem with either the CD or it didnt install right. o.O

He said he tried it on another computer.

My personal suggestion is to try running the game in another screen resolution. I will admit, I'm not the complete techno guy, but that can help.

It shouldn't be the CD or anything like that if your other computer(s) ran it fine.

And, well, did this just happen randomly, or ever since you first installed it on the specified comp?

And, final question. Is it lagging online or just always? If online, well, you might have poor internet, I'd guess, on that computer.

If not online, try increasing the game speed. It does wonders.

I belive this means it's lagging BOTH on and offline dont you think?

Yeah its lagging both Singleplayer/skirmish (offline) and multiplayer(online)............ Well i mean, it isn't really L-A-G- its more of some kind of "almost"-SLOW-MOTION.......

And the part about lowering resolution... well on laptops its not the same as on regular desktop ones... When you e.g use 800x600 the game wont fit on the whole screen, it will only become 800 x 600 but the screen will become smaller, and you can see like these black corners...really annoying:P

BUT i must say, it actually helped, but idk how long i can be playing at a small screen like this heheh, a torture:P.....

Laptops weren't meant for gaming...

yeah i know laptops arent made for gaming but when i got a laptop thats more powerful than my other desktop one....well u know... :)

My graphic card is Intel something yeah, which really sux, but keep on reading...

I SOMEWAY found a solution to this: I changed the graphic opitions to HIGH, and i put the particle and texture resolution to max too... and everything is smoother now.... LOLZ WEIRD RIGHT??? usually you lower to get smoother play but now...its faster hehehehe...Idk but i must say that my laptop seems to be retarded.....:P

anyways Im playing Generals with the amazing graphics so i cant whine about it:P

thx for the replys ppl.....
