Red Alert 1 - Windows 2000 problems.

Here's what I did:

 

1) tried setup windows - and it closed itself saying I had windows 5.0 (even with compataibilly).

 

2) tried setup through DOS, and it installed

 

3) the DOS game worked, but the windows game played slow and crashed. (got xp patch and compataiblilly)

 

4) installed aftermath (I don't have conterstrike). aftermath's installer worked without complaint. (did NOT use compatibilly)

 

5) DOS still worked, windows still crashed after a few minutes.

 

6) used patch 3.03. DOS loads but still says 2.00, windows now says "Red Alert registry entries not found. Please re-install Red Alert."

 

Anyway to get windows to work, because DOS has no sound or internet. It's kinda bland without any explosions

after instaling c&c red alert aftermath, try playing it without dos it should work aftermath comes with a patch wen it gets instaled, try 95
