Tree 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Recently I bought a new desktop and suddenly my printer causes it to reboot. The computer is an HP a1520e and the printer is an HP PhotoSmart 1315. I plug in the HP OfficeJet, and it works great. But the Photosmart, even if it's off and I turn it on, the computer reboots for some odd reason. Any reason why this might be? Sonic 297 Posted October 13, 2006 Tried updating the printer's drivers? Perhaps uninstall everything related to the HP PhotoSmart 1315 and re-install it. Is it connected via USB? Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted October 13, 2006 The drivers aren't installed, I think the problem lies somewhere within the bowels of Windows's Plug-n-Play driver whatevers. Nothing's installed yet. Any idea on how to disable PnP? Yep. Tried every single USB port on the computer, so it's not that Share this post Link to post
Sonic 297 Posted October 13, 2006 Maybe you need the printer drivers for it to work correctly. I know some older HP printers just use the supplied PNP driver for WinXP. If you goto http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...duct=61956& you will see a whole bunch of driver and software updates. I'd try downloading and installing them by following the set up instructions. If none of that helps consult the HP Customer Care section for the HP Photosmart 1315 Printer found here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/solveCa...p;product=61956 Share this post Link to post
