Swim

Recommended Posts

Guest RobotBill

In my mod I'm making almost all of the infantry units able to swim. How to I get it so that when they enter the water, they look like the Navy Seal or Tanya when they swim? Thanks

add all of the swim frames from Tanya or the Seal to the infantry units of your choice and edit the infantry sequences in the art(md).ini file accordingly.

where can you find the swim frames and how do you copy them?

ra2.mix --> conquer.mix --> seal.shp, seala.shp, and tany.shp.

Using XCC Mixer copy them as PCX.

The SHP that you want to add the frames to needs to be in PCX aswell.

For an example, let's say you want to add swim frames to the Terrorist, which is trst.shp.

Find the swim frames and rename them to "trst XXXX.pcx" so that the numbers are in sequential order with all of the frames from that SHP that you are adding the smimframes to. XXXX, being what ever numbers they need to be. The space is needed in the filename.

Be sure to note what you renumbered the frames to.

Next use XCC Mixer to convert the frames to SHP.

Next all you have to do is modify the sequence.

Make sure that no other SHP uses the same sequence that you are modifying, unless you are adding smim frames to those SHPs too.

Make a copy of the seuence and rename it if you have to.

Refer to the sequence for [TANY], [sEAL], or [sEALA], whichever you are using.

Copy the parts that refer to the swim frames to the sequence you are modifying (or creating). Change the numbers to match what you renumbered the frames to.

Place the modified SHP(s) and art(md).ini in your RA2 directory (making sure that no other mods are active).

That should be it.

Look at the FAQ/Tutorials page on my site for more information.
