My computer brokeded.

Here's my story.

Last friday, I had to clear my computer off, completely. An entire re-format.

Unfortunately, when I did this, my computer could, for some reason, no longer read my network, sound, or video card correctly. So, on my home computer, I am literally running with no internet, sound, or DECENT video.

I called up my internet provider thinking I needed to just reconfigure the internet and then download sound drivers and video drivers, but they said my true problem lie in the network card, and I should simply have to unnattach and reattach it.

So, I opened up the computer myself. I disconnected the fan, CD drive, and the Power cell so I could move wires and find everything.

To my surprize, I found NO cards. All there are is 2 RAM cards, and that is literally it.

So, I removed these, and put them back in. Then, I plugged the power cell and fan back in.

Big mistake.

When I turned the computer back on, it made a different noise starting up, and there is a guage on the front of it with a clock and internal temperature, and this thing started beeping out of control, in a "shut me the hell off!" kind of way.

It was two short beeps every 2 seconds, if you need know.

And, since then, I have not bothered turning my computer on, for fear of a bigger problem arizing from whatever mistake I may have made.

My question is, how did the computer originally have sound, internet, and video without cards? Does intel just have EVERYTHING built into itself?

And, secondly, how in the hell to I fix this, and shut this damn noise off?

Any help would greatly be appreciated, I'm calling the manufacturer today, but, If there's a quick fix, that would be great.

What motherboard do you have? The other stuff could be integrated, so that would help to know

Tigerdirect/newegg are your best bets, unless you're in a big hurry to get more

You might have been unlucky and accidently fried something whilst messing around in your comp. Static electricity = bad.

Check your computer manual to see what the 2 beeps mean. As it varies from computer to computer.

Depends on the motherboard, but yeah, onboard sound, video and ethernet. ;)

Hey hey! I figured it ALL out!

Just had to install drivers for everything to work again.

As for the beeping, turns out that the little device at the front of the computer that has a clock and a reading of the internal temperature (an optional device), simply had a crack in the corner of it. That's what was making it go nuts, so I've disabled that.

Otherwize, I'm all good to go!

Meh, I got all this hardware less than a year ago, I'm not buying anymore :P

Got more RAM put in, I'm up to a gigabyte now.

Get a cooling system, as Beowulf just said. And also, make sure there are no wiring tangles. And be alert for strange hard drive sounds, like my dad's PC a long time ago. It was like a sign that he should start backing up the stuff on that hard drive, but we ignored it. Result: Total data loss.
