Slow game speed in LAN game with Generals

Everytime i try to play Generals at LAN the game speed is too slow.

is there a way to speed it up?

the speccs on the computers are:

comp1: amd 2400+ gf4ti4200, 512mb DDR333

comp2: amd 2000+ gf2TI, 1024mb DDR333

These specs look OK, are you running any programs in the background? A firewall maybe? Virus scanner? They can cause some lag.
