Fileplanet offers Demo Reserve for C&C3

Recommended Posts

http://www.fileplanet.com/features/FileReserve/

I noticed this link elsewhere and checked it out, up close and personal like. The good fellows at fileplanet are offering a service to their subscribers (ie. $$$ partners) to automatically download demos as soon as they become available... listed on the page are Freak Out, Supreme Commander, Rainbow Six Vegas, Quake Wars, Crysis and yours truely the "C&C3" demo.

And while nothing is confirmed, it does seem to indicate at least that a demo will be released for the doubters to "try-before-you-buy" which has got to be considered "good news" right?

:? confused...

Are you talking about paying to be a file planet subscriber or the game? I wasn't trying to glorify fileplanet... but rather the concept of a pre-release demo for C&C3.

Meh, everyone would have the demo, not just them, they tend to be the site that makes everybody pay for the same content that everyone else has. No big whoop.

sigh... the point I was *trying* to make was the early indication that a demo might be released before the game!!!

(it had nothing to do with the source/provider of the demo).

If they were to release a demo, I'd say it would be done so in the next month or so, in my IMO.

Sarcasm noted, but my experience has been that not all games have demos available before the game is released#. And my point of the post is a demo for C&C3 has to be crucial because of all the doubters/haters of EA from the ex westwood fans.

Having a pre-release demo may be more increasingly normal, but we'd be up in arms if there wasn't, and I think - even though it's not confirmed - it would be important to acknowledge EALA coming through with this important step.

# Of course I can't actually think of any examples right now - so I could be grossly mistaken.

Only small-not known games don't have demos.

Hyped and big name series have demos, always. And C&C is a big series. (and EA couldn't risk pissing off fans)

edit: luk3us I know, but nowadays big games have demos, and the demos are usually hyped as well!

look at 2142! horrid but ppl were obsessed with getting the demo

No, I meant released before the final release, not after it. ;)
