Slow game / Lag / CPU usage

As you may know (or not or don't care) I'm trying to write a new skirmish AI for ZH. When I'm testing the script I use the "-win" option when starting ZH.

Because there are a lot of post on the forums concerning, slow game play, lag etc. I was curious what the CPU usage was when running ZH.

 

Surprisingly as soon as the Menu Background Picture is loaded (also use "-noshellmap") the CPU usage already hits 100% :? and it stays at 100% untill you start a game. When you start a game it shortly drops to ~25% and then goes back up to a 100%.

Ths occurs with official maps and my own scriptest map, so I don't know what's going on but it looks strange to me..

 

Any of you guys noticed the same :?:

 

Just to beat the questions: 2600+,512MB,9700pro(catalyst3.9), DirectX9b...shouldt be the issue :D )
