Generals ZH with VPN Problem

Hello,

 

we have the following problem...perhaps someone can help...

 

because I'm behind a router, my friend and I play Generals over VPN. Thats no problem so far. But at any time in the game Generals crashes on the pc of my friend. Sometimes we can play one or two maps but it alwas crashes. I connect to his PC via VPN but I can't imagine the problem is VPN. Well when Generals is crashed he only can reboot his pc, nothing else works. Killing the process is useless.

 

has anyone here played Generals over VPN? Have you had the same problems or worked it fine for you? To know that would help us to get closer to the main problem. Perhaps it's windows, but we don't know. Generals and Zero Hour have been reinstalled many times And they are both the most current version.

 

In single player mode or via direkt internet gaming the pc of my friend doesn't crash... never. So what could this be? Thanks for your help!
