New Improved CNCNZ.com RSS News Feed

Recommended Posts

CNCNZ.com has had an RSS news feed available for a long time, however it hasn't exactly been 100% perfect. The good news is I've finally fixed it with an improved system that works way better that our old one.

To use the new RSS feed simply click on this icon rssfeed.gif, If your using Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 the RSS feed should display a new tab for you with options to subscribe to it. E.G. as a "Live Bookmark" in Firefox.

For more details about the CNCNZ.com RSS News Feed or to get working with an external application click here. If you still have the old news feed link bookmarked please delete it and add the updated one.

So now it does not bump topics if they've been replied to in the RSS feed?

Edit: Nope... Still does that...

It happens with webmaster blogs as well. I could bump up the first ever webmaster blog and it will display as the latest blog on the main page.... I'm sure all it'd take is a small modification to a particular line or 2 of script.

But I'll be damned if I know what it is. :P

I tested it for that and as far as I can see it doesn't bump old topics like the old RSS feed did. Have you actually subscribed to the new one? The old one is still present.

URL to new feed: http://forums.cncnz.com/rss.php?f=27

Old Feed: http://forums.cncnz.com/topics_anywhere.ph...;so=d&b=non

I'm aware of that, its not really bug, more of any annoyance how the the "topics_anywhere.php" script works. Its really for display the latest "posts" to a particular thread.

Like the RSS feed, I'm working on possible solutions.

And yes, I will get the new RSS system working on Petro-Gamers in acase you ask about it ;)

There is one minor display bug with the new news feed. If somthing like C&C is used in the news subject it displays as C&C.

In other words the RSS script doesn't like the & symbol.
