Saracen 16 Posted October 12, 2007 And it's heavily influenced by the oldest strategical discussion in the community... Build order. Back in the day when the so called Multi-player scene was considered either equal to or inferior to the Single player experience the build order used to be: Powerplant [*] Barracks [*] Refinery [*] War factory [*] Powerplant [*] Radar [*] Extra refinery and/or Extra 1 or 2 Harvesters [*] Advanced Structures [*] Superweapons From there you would then discuss neccessary strategies to take down the enemy using the full arsenal of weapons at your disposal.. Now it's more the case of [*] Powerplant [*] Barracks [*] Refinery [*] War factory [*] 2 Powerplants [*] Refinery SPAM!!! [*] Warfactory SPAM!!! [*] Mid Tier UNIT SPAM!! [*] Advanced Structures [*] HIGH TIER UNIT SPAM!!! [*] Mass steamroll & Win! Expect this school for no-brain strategy enthusiasts to go no further than an intelligence understanding that would struggle to teach my cat new tricks. And all my cat does is sit on my keyboard. Saracen 16 Posted October 12, 2007 It's just for rts noobs so they don't lose interest and give up. I see its purpose. I stand by the notion that the only way to learn anything in life is to be defeated, make your own mistakes and grow stronger through your experiences. Knowledge may be power, but it certainly doesn't count for anything in life without being required to carry out the key elements. That's what makes people great. Being told what to do in a safe haven, and being led by the hand will only make you weak. And through a more constructive critical eye, I highly doubt new players will have trouble developing what very little unintelligible strategy there is in this game to become good players. So in my eyes this series is rather redundant. I might as well make a philosophical argument on it. Share this post Link to post
