advanced modding help

hello again found out how to do basic modding thx for the help and i was wondering how i could take a civilian unit and make it a factions unit. that and how to take say the usa a10 thunderbirds and make them buildable in the us airfeild. help is appreciated thx.

so is it even possible to take a civilian structure like say a wall or tech building and make it a buildable structure for a certian faction? and also to take like the a10 thunderbird power for the usa and make them a buildable unit for the usa?

Yes, this is possible.

 

Because you seem rather new to modding, and you want to create a basic change, let me direct you to a program called TibEd.

 

To modify Generals and Zero Hour, find Tibed 2 on their site.

 

You can actually look up all the advanced properties for each building, unit, and everything else, and modify it to your will.

i looked into the tool and it is very usefull. the only thing is i still cant take lets say a bio rocket from civilian structures and turn it into a GLA structure/weapon, is there a way?

I made it, but not with the tools, i have recently seen the modding tools and i will try to learn and use em, i downloaded the destructive forces mod from generalsfiles.com and then modified the ini files, the files was in data/ini folder and i edited them by simply notepad, i have taken a civilian baikonur rocket and used it with the normal gla and the gla chemical general, i made the rocket pad such that the rocket flys with the animation from the pad just a short time before its superweapon countdown timer reaches zero and when the weapon is ready, i simply select location to use the superweapon. The animation is just from the first section of the GLA endgame movie. The part where the baikonur rocket is launched from the rocket pad. The rocket falls down to the target location a short time after i use the superweapon. Here, i just use the ObjectCreationList code like the china artillery barrage ObjectCreationList code with a few changes. A Baikonur rocket is created and it falls to the base and it explodes. You can edit how the rocket explodes. I did this investigating ini file codes, manually editing the codes there and testing the changes i tried to do. But i do not how it can be done professionally using modding tools, programs, etc. So, i just edited an already made mod to my preferences. So it is possible :smile
